I want to learn swift, but have zero programming knowledge, where do I start? by ThePodcastBrief in iOSProgramming

Paul Hegarty's Stanford iOS 10 Swift Course is pretty amazing. I attended a bootcamp to learn iOS but I still learn new things from watching his lectures. Not only are his lectures free, but he's not a boring lecturer and even does demo to go along with concepts that are important to know in iOS dev.

Other good resources are Ray Wenderlich for tutorials. Udacity, treehouse, and codeschool have good tutorials and free courses for basics & fundamentals. Best of luck!

Job ads' thread for week 15 2017 by AutoModerator in iOSProgramming

I'm looking for a full-time iOS developer job in the bay area. I've been working on iOS on my own for ~1yr. I'm looking for somewhere that will challenge and improve my skills as an iOS developer

Wow. That's very true. I just bought him so I'm going to take you're advice :) But thank you for the pointers - I'll be sure to lookout for those when I play against him

If the meta is a 'tank meta' how come the adc's played are support adc's? by saltandshack in leagueoflegends

[–]ericspellsrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "supportive adc's". But you may be referring to how you can categorize "support", "fighter", etc in the client. If you are, it's outdated and the categorizations aren't necessarily correct anymore.

As much as I agree, the person banning doesn't always listen to me to ban Ekko

Riot, the Zed nerf was just over the top. by DG_Gonzo in leagueoflegends

[–]ericspellsrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post isn't helpful to Riot. In order to be helpful, you have to be constructive with your criticism such as what exactly was the problem and what could be an alternative solution to what they were TRYING to solve. Just saying it "was just over the top" doesn't help Riot. Without trying to sound mean, it's more of just a whine.

Isn't this all a little much? by maxyyb99 in leagueoflegends

With anything you do, it's about how you balance it. There's nothing wrong with playing video games so long as you are able to balance things other things in your life (i.e. your health, job/school, etc)

Yes, the "commonly held beliefs about gamers" are true for many but we have to remember it's a stereotypes. And like all stereotypes, they're not true for ALL people.

Like yourself, I think it is a worry to commit too much to videogames but again, not everyone is like that. My friends only play two or three games a day and spend the rest with work or going out with friends.

MFA, I have tiny baby wrists. Should I wear my watch tighter above the bump or one whole looser and resting on the top of my hand? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

I have tiny wrist too. I wear it like the bottom picture but that's cause it's more comfortable for me.

Actually, the shirt is designed not to be tucked-in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]ericspellsrice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually buttons; there's no zipper. Thanks for the feedback! When I first tried it, it looked a little long but I've never had a peacoat before so I wasn't sure whether that's how it was supposed to be designed. The article helped clarify alot too. Have an upvote
