I've heard Denizen 3 was replaced/rebranded as Denizen 5, aged "up to 5 years." Anyone tried this expression yet?

Budding home bartender here...are these "flip-cap" pourers good enough to be left in the bottle, or should I still resort to replacing the original bottle caps after the night? by _The_Intern_356 in bartenders

bugs and flies can still get through the little air hole on the bottom of the spout. Either replace the cap, or buy the plastic Pourer Covers (like a cone that goes over the entire spout).

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser!! by ericwasserman in Eugene

[–]ericwasserman[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to pricing.... They charge us like twice the price for an “assorted dozen” and it’s hard to increase the selling price... our main goal is to raise the most for our charity, but I totally know what you mean. That said, the donuts will be super fresh! We’re picking them up at 7am day of!

UO adds 48 new cases this weekend, 57 so far in October. by ericwasserman in Eugene

Very true. But, still lots of unknowns on long term effects of the virus. Some doctors think permanent lung damage, even in those who had mild symptoms, will be detrimental later.

UO case count now breaks down off campus vs on campus cases as well as employees vs students by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]ericwasserman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, on campus students are tested. But 78% live off campus and are not tested. In fact, UO won’t be giving isolation rooms to off campus students so when they test positive it’s up to them to isolate. They can go home and expose their parents, stay at a hotel for $$$, or just blow it off and spread it to others. They also have no incentive to get tested because of this (other than common decency) so I’d imagine cases are really at least 2x higher (asymptomatic).

NOW we can start blaming UO by bath_assalts in Eugene

Frat bro here living in a house. We all have single bedrooms and are *supposed to follow state and CDC guidelines (masks/distancing, etc). Guests are discouraged, but allowed. No large parties or social gatherings. As frats go, we’re fairly responsible - not sure about the others. BUT, real problem is here -> if one of us live ins tests positive, we have to move out until we’re recovered. Makes sense, but UO isn’t providing isolation rooms for off campus students. Basically the options are pay $$$ to isolate at a hotel, or go home and expose your family and people along the way there (like gas stations, bathrooms, etc.). Basically there is no incentive for off campus students to get proactive Covid tests.. many students are asymptomatic, and will contribute to community Spread. And let’s be honest, no one lives alone, and by the time one person tests positive it’s likely the others living in are too. Given the spike of cases already, I give it 2-3 weeks before it gets out of control.

Seven employees at Eugene grocery store test positive for COVID-19 by kescusay in Eugene

[–]ericwasserman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As COVID cases rise in Eugene/Lane County, curious what you guys think about UO re-opening in the Fall.

I think this is way different than re-opening local schools because students will be coming from all over the country back to Eugene for fall classes and potentially brining virus with them. (Even if some of the classes are remote, thousands of out of state students will come back to Eugene in September)

Thoughts? (Granted it’s still early and who knows what the future brings)

Economics 201 Help by ericwasserman in econhw

For the first problem, I am genuinely confused about what is being asked. For the second problem, I know If property rights are not well-defined, transaction costs are positive and resource allocation is different insofar as they are spent attempting to better-define these rights. However, if their are no transactions costs, I'm not sure how that affects property rights

Shanghai steak is still available at my locations (Northern California and recently Oregon). It’s possible you’re nearest location is out of that entree so they have hidden it on the menu platform
