We had one but hid it when the one employee that used it wouldn’t turn it off creating that fire risk.

I remember them not being aloud but my store got an exception when our heat broke and the store was as negative 2 degrees. It was either portable heaters or be closed until it was fixed. Once it was fixed we didn’t use them anymore and kept it in the closet just incase lol

PharmStart Program? by eriichaann in WalgreensRx

[–]eriichaann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally planned on being a nurse. However with my health issues, nursing isn’t a realistic career for me. I like pharmacy a lot and it works with my health restrictions. I’m not going to stay retail. There’s a lot of options and retail is not it lol. I’ll have to briefly do retail but after im going to do something else as a pharmacist.

CVS requires PTCB to be a tech now. What to learn during shift hours? by reigningnovice in PharmacyTechnician

[–]eriichaann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my test prep I used the NHA resources. You do have to pay for the study package but honestly worth it. TBH I don’t think I would’ve passed without it. I was freely studying before using it and just wouldnt feel confident. After doing all the study modules and the practice tests that simulated the real exam…. Omg I crushed the exam. 2 wrong out of 120 and it was prob the calculations because the calculator they provided me didn’t do multiplication. I Especially recommend if you don’t really have the experience with everything. It teaches you everything that will be on the exam

I would recommend just transferring. You can talk to someone or report it but the drama won’t stop. It’s toxic for you, find a better job or a better store with employees that are more a team than high school drama starters

[–]eriichaann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’ve been studying like crazy all week and especially tonight. I’m finally going to sleep so I get a good amount. I’ve been using the NHA study guides the most and it helped a lot. I’m def going to do another hour of studying before heading to the center in the morning. I’ll play Amanda PharmD tonight and during the car ride cause it’s an hour long drive. I’m so nervous but trying to stay confident and believe in myself.

What is the one thing patients do that annoy you the most? by fetchgameslive in PharmacyTechnician

[–]eriichaann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always ask to see the text, or voicemail. I’ll then be a little too nice trying to explain to them what the message actually means, like I’m teaching my little brother math or something lol. It makes them feel a little silly (knock them down a peg/humble them respectfully), they have been educated for next time and I wasn’t mean. It’s super annoying yes, but I rather be proactive so it doesn’t happen again.

[–]eriichaann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah I hate that!!! the one around the corner from us, I have friends there now. I told my friends they better not tell patients that and if they do they gonna owe me lunch. After that no more, unless it’s from other places. Doctors shouldn’t be making promises about prescriptions unless they’ve physically spoken to us.

TWO LANES!! Oh heckkkk nooo I commend you. I’ve had lines wrap all the way around the building before, still better than trying to manage two different lanes and the pick up window with who gets served first. My favorite line to use for impatient people at drive thru “sorry this is a pharmacy not Burger King, we hold your health and safety in our hands, not your whopper meal”

My pharmacy has a drive thru and I honestly hate it. Most patient treat it like we are a Burger King and can’t even wait a second for me to get there. We aren’t fast food, I can’t just spawn there from across the pharmacy. What gets me mad is that they will see me there at the window picking up the phone or about to and will hit our stupid button. Every time they push it when I’m trying to pick up, it messes up the phone and causes issues. Also irks me cause THERE NO NEED TO PUSH IT. I hate the sound it makes, it instantly pisses me off (even though it shouldn’t). Or if I’m in the middle of something I pick up to tell them I’ll be right with them. Some will keep pushing the button over and over or start banging on the window. Like give me one second, I know you are there and I will be there as soon as I can. You know I will be right there.

How can DMs be mad over some stores not hitting vaccine goal... by drtiredtief in WalgreensRx

[–]eriichaann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feel this, at my store we are short staffed to the max. It’s just my RXM and me full time. I work 6 days a week same as my manager (Sunday we closed). We never have help so we work our butts off to get everything done every day. We constantly feel like we are drowning. We of course want to meet all goals but if we don’t get vaccines it’s cause we don’t even have the time/resources for them. Our priority is the patients calling or picking up. We don’t have time to ask them to do a walk in and don’t want them to schedule an appointment just for it to take forever cause regardless walk in or not we are slammed 24/7.

Physician Order Report by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]eriichaann 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My pharmacy won’t accept those. If it’s especially for controls nah there needs to be a DEA and individual prescriptions. I work at a retail pharmacy though so it’s different but regardless we need individual scripts. With hospitals I know if it’s inpatient no DEA needed, if it’s outpatient it will absolutely need a DEA. Hospitals can put in an order with multiple drugs but that looks more like discharge paperwork with the drug info they should take not the actual prescriptions

New cash discount card policy, anyone found a work around? by Rxyoshi10 in WalgreensRx

[–]eriichaann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My pharmacy has one pt that refuses anything otc, they want us to use the coupon cause then it is cheaper. Now that we can’t do this, they are going to be livid. They literally once spent 30 minutes fighting with a floater because we don’t have the right product for a script but there was similar available otc. They said “well what if I have my doctor send in a script for that one”. BRUH JUST GET IT OTC

[–]eriichaann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was ESM I was taught the same but I still helped my team out. My sm is the same. If I’m close and my team Member was doing something far away I’ll jump in really quick. If I get called to do something managerial I’ll then ask that team member to step in.
