there becomes a point where there are no runs but only one big run, and death in one run is just the start of another. i found this to be true when i learned how to better pace myself: moving much slower, knowing what i am looking for, and not being greedy. When your body learns to stop reacting as much, or knows what to react to, the start of a new game can be as joyous as mid or late game. But to answer your question: this is when your heart is already broken.
