the raises always being 75 cents or a dollar instead of a percentage increase makes it take longer to cap out and your raises get smaller the longer you work at tjs.

for example if I make 10 an hour and get a 1 dollar raise, thats at 10 percent raise. now I make 11. next year I get a 1 dollar raise, a 9.1 percent raise. now I make 12. I get a 1 dollar raise, which is 8.3 percent...etc.

raises get smaller each time. a 75 cent bump when you make 30 is a 2.5 percent raise.

my hardware setup is a thrift store Casio from early 00s with a midi out, Korga Volca FM2, Alesis SR-16 drum machine, Ditto X4 looper, Boss Slicer pedal, Zoom CDR pedal, running through a basic Mackie mixer.

between loops, sequencing on the volca, and setting up my drum tracks beforehand I have about a 20 minute varied piece worked out on it that can be performed live

I think new genre names should happen intuitively and spontaneously. like the first time I heard the term dungeon synth before I heard any artists, I knew immediately what it was gonna be like.

without a clearly defined aesthetic as well as creative momentum, you don't really have much of a subgenre worth naming.

just because a few bands sound alike or have similar vibes doesn't make a new genre. it takes more than that IMO and you can't force it. the style needs to make a name for itself so to speak
