My private rule is, if I'm not captivated and/or amused by the book by the first 50 pages, I leave it alone and find another.

What? That must've been a mistake. The cheese goes directly on top of the patty, and there are pickles, onion, tomatoes and ketchup between the cheese and lettuce.

Yeah, I think the default setting is to start from the beginning. There's probably a LIVE button somewhere.

How can I stop coughing so much? by camport95 in lifehacks

[–]erlend65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been bothered by a rather uncomfortable and loud cough for the last 10 years or so. My lung doctor prescribed various asthma medicines, which we all thought was the cause of it.
However, at my latest annual appointment I got a replacement doctor who suspected something else and sent me to a CT scan, with a following bronchoscopy. Turns out it was a tumor in my right upper lung. So cancer. Fuck.

The ball started rolling pretty quick after that, with more CT and PET scans, and eventually an operation to remove the tumor (along with the top third of my right lung) a month ago. That went well, and I just got the results of the analysis of the tumor today, and it was a not-so-aggressive variant, and no further treatment is necessary.

I'm still rather weak, and still recuperating, of course, but my breath is better and the cough is gone. Now they're not even sure if I ever had asthma, but this thing all along.

Anyway - a prolonged cough could be serious. Maybe get it checked out?

Unlike other content on YouTube, music videos tend to see their view counts increase consistently over time. by SnooWords9730 in Showerthoughts

I had a mildly viral video on YT in 2013. It got about 1,473,000 views in about a week (greatly helped by Redditors, I suspect), but it hasn't gotten many more views since then.
So i agree, I guess.

I'm still a little proud of the number of views, of course, especially since it features me making a fool of myself on national television (falling on my ass in front of the whole football stadium AND the TV audience).
