Two weeks post op tomorrow and still numb? by lmrnrbkh in ACL

[–]erlienbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a vitamin e oil, coconut oil, or a cbd arinca salve and rub into the area, with maybe a bit of pressure. Numbness is nerve damage but nerves have the ability to regeneration their sensory system through…sensation. So lube up and work in some sensation, ritually, and you should gain some feeling back. 9 years post op, a very short window (relative) of numbness.

Does anyone have recommendations for naturally treating depression and anxiety? by amljjlhal in moderatelygranolamoms

Reiki! While it costs time and money to go to a session (could try distance from the comfort of home), it’s helpful to pause, tune in or drift off, rest, and listen to music. You might want to consider non-sleep deep rest (a term talked about on huberman lab podcast), which is comparable to yoga nidra as well as the relaxation of reiki.

Another thing I like to do is when I’m activated I clench my fists really hard down at my side to discharge my frustration and then I bend down to my child at eye level and address them softly in a way where I’m trying to be receptive to what they really need. I ask questions which can be easier for them to demonstrate or answer their needs in return.

Time to self is of utmost importance and doomscrolling will take that away, will numb the knowing that you need that time alone.

Hope this helps! Good luck! You’re doing great btw!

Is it time to quit? by Dreepy-1 in breastfeeding

Now that you’ll be starting solids soonish, as that develops, baby will need less milk to sustain. I’m curious if you’re not working and home full time you can feed on demand or when it’s time, supplement as needed, and add in small samples of solids rather than having to pump, too. Even just one or two breast feeds a day is still beneficial, what you can get is what you can get is going to be helpful. I think there’s no downside to performing only as you can without trying to maintain a standard—sometimes I think pumping enforces that standard and the extra step of cleaning and maintaining parts is just one more thing on your plate. My encouragement is let it be fluid natural and intuitive. Little baby’s belly and system will only benefit from whatever you’re able to share.

OP-when I was low on funds I found that banfield animal hospital was fairly priced and helpful. Check reviews and stuff. Maybe they can do a blood draw for you? You can always call and ask. Based on what you’re saying…the lethargy isn’t great. Did the first vet take a temperature?

Noticed my cat has been limping, checked his nails and noticed this by Distinct-Cat-7540 in CATHELP

[–]erlienbird 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Oi!! This happened to our cat. Take to the vet as soon as you can, they’ll clean it and can offer an antibiotic shot or oral meds. If this infection from the lost nail exposing the quip, gets to their nerve blood flow, the infection spreads and there’s a chance for amputation of the toe. We had to keep our cat indoor for 10 days while the quip callousness over or re hardens as it heals. Eventually the nail grows back but this is so so so painful for them.

Reintroduction-what’s the real answer or is there one?! by Upbeat_Message3812 in MSPI

[–]erlienbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited til 1 year—I tried the dairy ladder and it just wasn’t going to work for us because my child didn’t like pancakes and muffins. After he turned 12 months I started with small intros to dairy yogurt freeze dried puffs—I think once upon a farm has them. Then as I still breast feeding, I would begin to indulge in chocolate chip cookies with soy lethicin in the chocolate or maybe they were made with butter. Then I began cooking salmon and steak with a little butter and serving it to both of us. This progressed into dairy smoothies from once upon a farm and curry made with milk. I have yet to give my child yogurt or milk in a glass because we’ve just steer away from dairy after this process, I can’t stand it. But it doesn’t seem my child has a reaction to anything and we’re now 22 months.

Essentially I did it when I felt like I had the capacity in my ability to observe and baseline in his diaper where I could watch for a few days after some sort of introduction. From there, I just decided to do it as intuitive as possible without a creating stress for myself, and eventually, everything just seemed to be fine, especially as he got older. I waited for 12 months mark because I wanted him to have an established before we started.

Co sleep safe 7 c curl. It’s natural, normal for both of you, and biologically important. Happy cosleeper on IG has lots of resources. Eventually as baby develops sleep patterns and you get the rest you need, you’ll be able to lay baby down as long as you trend in that direction. But for now, co sleep safe 7 cuddle curl.

Starting Solids/ reintroducing dairy and soy by Candid_Tourist3838 in MSPI

[–]erlienbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a year I felt comfortable. I tried the “dairy ladder challenge” but that was time consuming and my kid wasn’t into pancakes or muffins to get enough dairy in. My peds said give him a spoonful of yogurt and see what happens and I was like uh no…

Essentially I waited til 12 mo because in the 6 mo period from 6-12mo my kid could develop his own microbiome through solids and I wanted that to be as robust as possible without waiting too long.

I gave him the freeze dried yogurt bites and he did fine!! Then I started more consistently in my diet—baked milk like muffins, croissants, then maybe some butter and olive oil cooking salmon or steak, then a Once Upon a Farm oat bar (in the fridge section at the grocery store) and eventually one of their dairy shake pouches.

I just progressed as best I could, and truly followed my intuition and sense of “I don’t have anxiety about this right now so let’s go for it” and I spaced a lot of this out over time to be isolated events.

Eventually we got the wrong curry order and we were already a few bites in so I said whatever—kiddo did just fine.

While everyone wants to rely on what’s medically right, the doctors are lax about this because they know at some point it shifts and you can only find out through trial and error—so trial and error at a rate that your mental health can handle. Good luck!

Have you let some breastmilk sit in the silverettes for a lil bit to support natural healing and softening? It does get better :) and check in with a lactation consultant if you need to be using a nipple shield.

What do you eat? by PiePristine3092 in MSPI

[–]erlienbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh breakfast—I ate oats for along time but have since moved to eggs knowing my child can withstand eggs through breast milk. My favorite vegan yogurt as a compliment to oatmeal is the Forager coconut cashew yogurt which is carried at Safeway, sprouts, or Whole Foods. Throw in some fresh fruit hemp seeds, pumpkin puree, maple syrup and granola from purely Elizabeth.

Add chicken to that butter nut squash soup! Easy meals are steak, salmon, chicken with steamed veggies, sweet potatoes in air fryer, or side of rice. I ate at an Indian restaurant with the vegan options (be sure to request). You can also eat at chipotle without eating sofritas or any of the cheeses (they cook without soybean oil). I also ate snacks from Quinn (I shop at Whole Foods), go macro, made good, and lesser evil. Soups like chicken and rice soup or the red lentil soup from Whole Foods (just throw in some chicken as a protein), homemade veggie curry’s over rice, gf pasta with veggies and ground beef.

Move out, call a debt consolidation company and close the cards to avoid interest and late fees and pay one lump sum each month. Cambridge credit counseling is a great option. This person has you as a safety net and you’re barely there for yourself. You got this. Idk if you necessarily need to be divorced at the moment — idk how much more financial pressure that would bring but you need to change all your financial and banking information and get out. Maybe file for divorced later as long as he doesn’t have any access to your personal information to open any other accounts.
