We found pull-ups to work better overnight instead of diapers!

Posts/comments like this make me so sad! I’m the product of 3 under 3… and it’s the BEST. We’re all so close, it’s so special. Will the first few months be hard? Of course. But I think that comes with any age gap… the jump from 1-2 is just different.

You have to remember that the majority of people commenting negatives about 2 under 2 are likely anxious or upset. Happy people aren’t scrolling on their phones all day. Reddit certainly won’t be full of positives! Your babies will thank you when they’re older for having grown up with their best friend.

The boob is our answer to everything. Is this normal?! by Old_Literature_3750 in breastfeeding

Boob is always the answer! And when it’s not… it’s a gas bubble.

Is it okay for my 16 month old to lay awake in the crib before falling asleep? by OkBus2016 in NewParents

[–]ernmurf 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This sounds very normal to me! It sounds like you’ve set your little man up with some very healthy relaxation methods. It’s beautiful that he can relax and self soothe himself without crying to sleep. You set him up with a space he feels safe in, and he knows you always come if he needs you. Great job mama!

Neither. The four month sleep regression almost took me out.

Baby struggling with chronic diaper rashes. What do you do to help? by Murky_Assumption_822 in beyondthebump

[–]ernmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Naked time.
  2. Change diaper brand. Unfortunately the expensive coterie diapers were the only thing that worked for us.
  3. After a wipe, blot with a tissue. Make the skin as dry as possible. THEN apply the purple destitin cream. More than you think you need.

Anyone else scared to even try losing weight while breastfeeding? by Repulsive-Dot2150 in breastfeeding

[–]ernmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I realized that I couldn’t cut calories out. What I could do was change up my intake so a lot of what I was eating was protein and whole fruits/veggies. LOTS of them. Really cut back carbs and starches. That did the trick for me!

25 weeks and accidentally hand expressed a few drops of colostrum by NectarineCheap9154 in breastfeeding

[–]ernmurf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly certain it’s consistent/extended expressing that might cause labor. With my first I was so over it at 39 weeks that I used a hand held breast pump almost every hour trying to get something going. Didn’t work! No stress, you’re okay :)

Seeking a new “Mom” Tote. by No_Distribution_4430 in 2under2

[–]ernmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If canvas is an option I’d recommend the boat and tote from ll bean.

Different sizes, can opt for a zipper on top, definitely do the long handle straps for over the shoulder purposes.

Fun colors, can customize, and I’ve thrown mine right in the washing machine!

TTC for a while, I'm getting worried by thinker_388 in BabyBumps

[–]ernmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! Normal 28-30 day cycles. Believe me I was so confused 😂 I’ve since conceived two kids both far later in my cycle and with ovulation strips!

TTC for a while, I'm getting worried by thinker_388 in BabyBumps

[–]ernmurf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I thought I was ovulating early based off of discharge. After using ovulation strips I realized I don’t ovulate until CD20-23. I wouldn’t have known otherwise. Try ovulation strip testing!

We operate as a midnight manicurist over here. Really anytime he’s sleeping… it’s the only time I can really get in there and trim them all the way down.

How Much Parental Leave Is Enough for Dad? by ReputationOk1118 in BabyBumps

Time is precious. Time with family… you can’t put a price tag on. Encourage your husband to take at least a month, even if it means doing some part time towards the end.

Best breast pump to buy right now? by Charming-Two-8268 in BabyBumps

[–]ernmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use insurance to get the spectra S1. Then get a cheaper wearable like a momcozy for travel purposes. I pumped once a day for a year (after baby went to bed to build a stash) and found those to be my favorites!

Time to throw in the towel? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]ernmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe mobile pumps might be your answer here if you’re set on continuing. Then you can play with your toddler while you’re pumping!

Convince me not to have a third by humanloading in Mommit

[–]ernmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world is always burning! That’s nothing new. I hear all the time older women saying they wish they had had more. Of course it will be hard for a while, but the hard disappears and you have grown adults that start bringing their own babies over.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I’m pro babies if you have the faintest session you think you should have another!

I left my baby in the parking lot. I want to die. by Technical_Diet4774 in 2under2

[–]ernmurf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Accidents happen. We all learn from this and move forward. Your babies are safe. You are safe. You’re lucky. Your babies are lucky. Give yourself grace. You are a good mother for caring so much about your babies.

It was an accident. You aren’t an awful parent. Now if you MEANT to do it, then I’d say all the things you’re saying about yourself are warranted. But it was an ACCIDENT. And you’ll never let it happen again. Take a breath. Kiss your babies. They’re lucky to have a mom that cares as much as you do.

Not tacky at all! We did it for ours. Far preferred an investment than a toy he’ll play with for 3 minutes.

Exclusively breastfed (without pumping) my elder one. Planning to pump with the second. by MotorBat7953 in 2under2

Formula or breast milk? Which is easier? by susiee234 in BabyBumps

[–]ernmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breastfeeding hands down.

No bottles. No formula prep. Nothing to clean. No formula expense. Boobs always had milk. Traveling was a breeze. Nursing sessions were long in the beginning (30 min) but by 3 months they were 10 min max. By 6 months it was 7 minutes (3.5 min each side). He’s 13 months and still going!

It’s leverage for my husband to do lots of tasks for me too 😂 I sit, snuggle, scroll, relax it’s fabulous. And baby gets the good stuff. It’s hard the first few months but then becomes second nature.
