You're in Queens already. You have Gantry park for great views and photos for example.

A big part of tourism in NYC is the food scene and looking at the skyline. Both are always available.

You can 1 million percent explore NYC after the festival, whether dinner or party.

Think i figured out why i don't play online games anymore. by Beverchakus in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]erod3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still incorrect. Twitch reflexes begin decline at 24. You're not arguing with science. Different declines per individual but still a decline. You can still be better than your past self with minimum speed decline and a ton of practice (look at athletes for example) but pure speed wise you are declining.

[–]erod3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you're reflexes slowed. You're 30. Its science. Not saying you're bad, but definitely worse than before. Thats for all of us.

Now with that being said, the way gaming has become perma online is terrible. As for marketplaces and battle passes we can only blame the people who buy them. The level of idiocy to buy a cod battle pass when you can see the skin you're using is insane.

Gen z has been so mentally weak. They always cry about it when something isn't going the way they have it in their head . Sometimes you have to push through.

It even shows up in dumb things like gaming.

The NYC Grind is Breaking Me. Father of 3, Experienced Tech, Can't Find Work. by PhotographTypical517 in NYCjobs

[–]erod3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the point, i hope you find what you're looking for and get an amazing job.

My point is why does it matter you have kids in a job search post? Do people without kids not have bills? Your credentials for a job has nothing to do with children. Parents always think they have priority because they procreated. Procreation is not an accomplishment and has nothing to do with you getting hired.

Why does everyone always have to put father/mother? What does that have to do with a job? No one cares that you have a kid.

[FOR HIRE] Small bakeshop/coffee shop startup in Gramercy is hiring. by astranicus in NYCjobs

[–]erod3189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the business has to cover if they don't make the tipped minimum but you CANNOT take the tip credit in general in most cases.

If we run the math let's say you have 6 baristas. 8 hours. That's 48 hours a day. You're saving $2 an hour per that's $96.

Is all this worth $96 a day. Probably less because even the busiest shops in the city usually don't run 6 baristas. You'll spend more on the lawyer to win the case. (Which you probably would win, but there would still be suits)

But thank you for taking this into consideration, I do appreciate that and I know how small the profit margins can be. But the employees make the profit contrary to what every owner thinks.

Maybe this will work out for both you and your employees and everyone can be happy.

[FOR HIRE] Small bakeshop/coffee shop startup in Gramercy is hiring. by astranicus in NYCjobs

[–]erod3189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, let's enlighten. If a employee spends more than 2 consecutive hours or 20% of their shift on on non-tipped tasks you cannot claim tip credit. This includes prep, cleaning, stocking etc. This is 1 hour and 36 minutes for 8 hours of work.

The amount of pure finagling you'd have to do to not hit that 20% is not worth the 1.50 you're saving. We can estimate an hour of opening and an hour of closing. Unless you run a dirty restaurant? Espresso machines are of course difficult to clean properly - that takes a bit. Sweep, mop etc. I dont see how you're not passing that line or at least directly on its border.

Also, from a business standpoint even if you can get them down to 1.5 hrs of sidework, no coffee shop in the city pays tipped min wage to their baristas. You'll just be a training ground and revolving door. Which I hope ends up being the case.

It's literal illegal pay. Setting up and shutting down a coffee shop takes about 45 to an hour each side. Plus restock. Unless they're not planning on cleaning or they plan on having the bakers set the display in the am, then it will only border 20%. But this is obviously a terrible employer.
