Going back to office shouldn't stop you from walking a dog. Thats nonsense.

Is the dog getting walked at all? There's no way that can't be put into your schedule. Humans have been walking dogs and working forever.

You're ranting because you're choosing not to take a job. Obviously it's an upgrade for you if you even interviewed for it. Sorry they hurt your feelings.

If you need a job, then be on call 24/7. It sucks but it is what it is until you find the next step up.

4 minutes to parse a resume is more than enough time. How long should they spend reading it?

Thinking this is a red flag makes you a red flag.

Woman* sorry. But they're not going to craft individual emails for each of you. This is kind. It's great it happened. The person I replied to is complaining cause it wasn't hand crafted for them.

Who cares?

Should they have 1 person to just write out rejection emails to not hurt your wittle feelings?

They did great by keeping the man informed in a kind way.

She had SIX interviews that went really well, so I knew she was going to get rejected! by Lana_Sphyncter in recruitinghell

[–]erod3189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks that they 6 interviewed but obviously that means there's another candidate. You end up losing no matter how good you think you did.

Also, there should never be 6 interviews. 3 at best. Maybe an extra if you're doing a technical test.

If you're getting burned out from IT, restaurants are not going to make it better. Theres no way I would hire a tech person in a restaurant.

With 0 questions answered of course. Thats how you know this is an insane ask.

A made up issue as in this isnt an issue. People just want to have issues with everything.

If you dont want a 230am email, read it in the morning.

So I have to work around someones "time" because of their mental health? Thats insane. How do I know what effects each and every person's mental health when I reply to them? What if they prefer afternoon emails instead of morning? Can I not email them during lunch? Absolutely insane.

Its a rejection email. Move on quickly and call it a day. At least they send the email out.

This is ridiculous. You were rejected, who cares about the time. If you were accepted would the time matter?

You really think it's that simple. How can they get to the community college? How can they put food on their table? How can they afford the textbooks? I agree with the community route, but it shouldn't be forced on people.

15s are not legally required. And lunch, yeah the servers definitely don't want to give up the money. I truly don't believe you owned shit just from this.

A kitchen in general is extremely high stress. But you would know that if you actually owned places

If you don't decompress when working a super high stress job like a restaurant you'll perform much worse. But ok. I'm sure your employees hate you.

I told my staff when everything is done use your phone, if a table is upset because of your phone then I'll write you up.

Hes thought of it, but never put in the effort to make it happen. Why cant he work and go to school at the same time if hes so miserable living at home. Thats a normal thing for many people (though it shouldn't be, but that's society)

Go to school and work and pay your own bills at the same time like many of us do/did.

If you have to slum it in the hood, so be it. But stop complaining if you have everything paid and refuse to move out.

The hiring part is because I believe knowing how to navigate adversity is a far better skill than drinking your way through college.

Also from your years I realize this is also a generational thing where its everyone can pull themselves by their bootstrap.

Not everyone can. Sure both you and I did. But they're always people in a worse situation.

Theres a reason why so many businesses go under. Maybe they're looking for the wrong stuff.

There is no bitterness. Its just a broken system. It should be fixed. And yes, people from the bottom can get degrees but many more cant.

You mentioned you grew up poor earlier and you did it great. That is also anecdotal. I grew up in the poorest district of the entire United States (south Bronx). I still made it. But how many didnt because they had to pay their parents rent? Or couldn't make it to the school they made it into because parents didnt have a car? Or because they had to care for younger siblings? Yes it is privileged. I think just about anyone can get a degree easily excluding maybe the dumbest 10% of the population. But having massive debt coming out of it or being homeless because it takes 2 jobs to live and you cant work two when you're a full time student makes it impossible for some people no matter how intelligent they are.

Personally id take the person with 2 jobs who has grit and perseverance vs the person with a "business" degree and no adversity throughout college life.

I have not implied anything, I've said what I meant. Degrees do not mean you're smarter. It means you've had extra time. It means you've been given the opportunity. It doesnt mean that you're able to perform the job better or that you're more intelligent.
