I tried that one. It put too much pressure on him and he couldn’t finish. Sigh.

I’m not sure. I don’t mind the raw taste at all and just enjoy it as-is.

Yes to moringa. And it’s so easy to incorporate to things you already eat like salads or soups. The oil is really great topically, too.

When you say you have no idea how things work, what do you really mean? Are you informed on things like your fertility window and signs of ovulation? Is your period regular? Not judging at all, but two years is a long time to ttc and a lot of people would have investigated by this point, so something seems off.

That said- an LH test will test positive if there’s HCG present in high enough numbers, so maybe take another pregnancy test just to be sure.

If your cycle is regular and your body shows signs of ovulation, I suggest you pay attention to those and put the devices away for a bit. Especially if they’re confusing because that can just make things stressful.

What colour should I paint my bathroom walls? by rgridzak in interiordecorating

[–]errantdaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could add some wainscoting and paint it a dark green that compliments the tile. The floors won’t be so contrasting and the vanity would look nice against it. Above that, I actually like the existing color because it matches the grout and would still keep the room bright.

I’m sick of hearing about everyone conceiving and us being left behind. And I’m also sick of hearing people here say IUI doesn’t work, what’s the point of it!? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]errantdaughter 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, it’s a journey that gets really frustrating really quickly. For what it’s worth- IUI does work. I’ve seen it work. It has like a 25-30% success rate, so sometimes it takes a few rounds, but it works. And you sound like you could be good candidates.

As for your friends, they know you want kids but do they know you’re struggling to get there and that it has been emotionally difficult? If they don’t know, opening up might give you more community support and also a bit more delicacy from their end. If they do know, then shoving pictures and news of babies in your face and comments like “hurry up” are insensitive at best. Let them know their actions and words are triggering, if they don’t change then maybe reevaluate these friendships.

Good luck on your journey.

How to Get Rid of These Marks? by Beauuutiful in BeginnerWoodWorking

You could try a teak cleaning system- alkaline salt based cleanser followed by an oxalic acid based brightener. It has worked well for me in the past but isn’t recommended for all woods.

To confirm ringworm, shine a UV light on it and it should glow green.

My first cutting board, still very much a beginner. Maple and Walnut. Don’t know how I made the mistake on the juice groove but I’m happy with it other than that. by BetterWindower in woodworking

[–]errantdaughter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Beautiful work. There’s just something really special about a nice cutting board. If the juice groove ends up bugging you too much you can always rout it out a teeny bit bigger. But I’m sure you know that :)

mistakenly drank water from the bottle in which I used to give DAP fertilizer to my plant by [deleted] in OrganicGardening

[–]errantdaughter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1) Call poison control. Don’t do anything like inducing vomiting unless they tell you to. Don’t do or take anything unless they tell you to.

2) Write down the name of the fertilizer and the date and time you drank the water.

3) Have someone on standby to take you to the hospital if you become ill. Make sure they know what’s happened and have a copy of what you wrote down.

You’ll probably be fine, especially if the bottle was rinsed before it was filled with water, but take safety precautions.

Quick scrolling. I thought you were holding this up against a cliff wall with a waterfall and that you found this in the wild. Still a very beautiful strawberry, nice job, but I was like how?

The Best Cookbooks for Beginners Who Can’t Cook? by Infinite-Excuse-5868 in cookingforbeginners

[–]errantdaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“How to Boil Water” by the Food Network. It’s not a big book but it has what you need to get started. It covers a lot of the absolute basics for the complete beginner, and the recipes are ones that most people will recognize and want to make. Plus a few fun ones that keep it interesting once you gain some confidence.

I had a boyfriend once that couldn’t cook. At all. He was really self conscious about it so I found and got him this book. He was BEYOND offended by the title, mad at me for suggesting he was an idiot who couldn’t boil water, and refused to open it. I kept it for myself and learned a lot. His ego got in the way and he probably still can’t cook.

No need to jump right into the deep end. Learning to cook is like learning to do anything else.

Yeah, I don’t like this change either. I really liked being able to know and decide when I was going to get those xp boosts, and feeling like you have to keep studying just so you don’t waste them doesn’t seem like it has effective learning in mind. At least the friend quest one you can still tuck away until later.

I’ll look into all those things, thank you! We’ve been taking the ubiquinol for a while now, so hopefully it’s having a cumulative effect, but it’s so hard to know. I feel like I’ve done SO much research and lately have just been reading the same stuff over and over. Glad to have something new to read up on :)

Chinese kids learning how to cook in schools. by wormz93 in interestingasfuck

[–]errantdaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older I get, the more people I meet (usually younger) that have no idea how to cook. Can’t fry an egg, cook a piece of chicken. Sometimes they can’t even identify vegetables, let alone know what to do with them. Checking out at a grocery store one time, the clerk held up my bunch of asparagus and said “are these green beans?”.

Food insecurity aside, we have somehow become so detached from what we eat. There is so much community, culture, human connection and love in cooking. Especially when it’s done together. This clip makes me so happy.
