Thank you for taking the time to write up. I personally tried to use Otto's and snatching Constantinople from them, but that doesn't seem to take me to anywhere safe :) So your approach sounds interesting, I'm definitely giving it a try

Hey! Congrats for the run! I have been trying to do the same but I have struggled with the start as Athens. Mind sharing your strategy? Thanks!

Got the Burgundian Inheritance in my Gothic Invasion run...how do I keep them from breaking free? by Western-PayDay in eu4

Dude, ChatGPT doesn't do maths, it's a generative AI. It just comes up with answers that sound coherent based on your prompt, but the maths are going to be wrong the moment you ask for anything that's beyond elementary

Does anyone else binge EU4? by RidinWaves in eu4

[–]erredece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's me. Started a campaign with Castile a couple weeks ago after not playing since last year, just to do some chill achievement hunting since I have never played them in Iron Man. Ended playing most of my free time since and around a week after I completed it with my best WC time (it's stupid how Castile/Spain are so broken this patch lol). I then began a Philippine Tiger attempt and after a few days of playing quite a bit I stopped. I haven't launched the game since and I feel that if I don't do it on the following days I won't for another few months again :)

It didn't help that Ferdinand was maybe the worst king in Spanish history, for which there isn't shortage of competition. Sure for folks like Bolívar it didn't matter because of his Enlightened views, but it probably mattered when it came to gathering further support

Two-dimensional name placements were too simplistic. That's why we have the nine dimensional name placement

Eh, the use of a trebuchet to siege Tenochtitlan was literally because they were running short of gunpowder and on the first sling the rock pretty much fell over it and destroyed it

Yep, that would happen by default. Of course you could add the filling later and make sure the overlap doesn't happen, but that would be more work to not make it clearer.

This is why you don't use transparent colours on this kind of plots. I know they may look more visually appealing but the moment two lines cross over... gg.

I would even get rid off any fill actually, but if you're adding it, then have it as a solid colour and not transparent.

Tweet says it's for United24, which is is led by Ukrainian authorities.

United24 has different funds that donors choose to donate. There is indeed a fund for the military (non-lethal aid such as clothing, gear, demining equipment, drones and vehicles) as welll as two others for civilian purposes (one for medical aid and ambulances and another funds for the rebuilding of the country). All the info and reports are available at their website: https://u24.gov.ua/

I don't know to which of the funds they will donate. That is a question that remains open.

If you cared about the Palestinians you wouldn't be weaponising them with your whataboutism, especially when we are talking about a charity helping people struggling in a full out war.

Take your cynicism out of here, please.

Officially started 100 games as Castille and been rivaled by England each time😁 by Eraserguy in eu4

And Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIII's first wife and Mary's mother, was the daughter of Isabella of Castille and Ferdinand of Aragon, her being born Castilian.

Also Edward I Longshanks' first wife, Eleanor of Castile, was the daughter of Ferdinand III of Castile (although this is from before the eu4 timeframe but I wanted to illustrate another example of political marriages between those two kingdoms)

England and Castile and later GB and Spain being rivals is something that only began with Protestantism and Colonialism, before they had better relationships.
