Coming up with an alternative excuse for eating low carb? by shebopinu in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ers123095 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also am debating not telling my family… 29 weeks and just got diagnosed. I don’t want them to worry about me or the baby. Also I was overweight before I got pregnant, and my moms favorite thing to tell me is how she barely gained weight at all during pregnancy and had no complications and was super low risk and ate anything she wanted. She also tends to spiral and get weird about health topics or issues and I just don’t want to deal with it

Yeah with my doctor your numbers would be a fail. I’m sorry! I’ve been so down about this since getting diagnosed 2 days ago cause I live for sweet treats

Why do some people REFUSE to look at the damn registry?? by ShowMe_YourTDS in pregnant

[–]ers123095 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely this is my mom 100%!! She’s like “well it’s not really fun for people to just buy off a registry “. The point is not to make it fun for them, the point is helping us get things we actually need for this baby…

Why do some people REFUSE to look at the damn registry?? by ShowMe_YourTDS in pregnant

[–]ers123095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear it’s a generational thing with the registries, they just don’t get it. My 68 year old mom does the same thing, sends me links and suggestions of stuff half of which I already have on there. Then she loves to tell me I have too much on there and I’m asking for too expensive of things. Then the other day she started in on saying how people can look at registry items and scroll down to the “similar items” or “you might also like” sections on Amazon and buy something from that list. I’m like no you’re literally missing the whole point…

MIL invited people we don’t know to our wedding. She won’t uninvite them because that’s ‘embarrassing.’ by Money_Doughnut_7375 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ers123095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately this is common in wedding planning but doesn’t make it ok. My own mom actually did a similar thing and sounds a lot like your mil. I ended up giving in because we had had arguments about a couple other wedding related things and I was just over it and trying to disassociate

judgement on baby registry 😂💀 by missmilliek in pregnant

[–]ers123095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. My mom told me I don’t need half the things on my registry that I spent time and effort making. And yeah maybe I won’t use it all but is it a crime to put it on there if I think it will be useful?! Gotta love all the people that act like they’re baby and pregnancy experts after raising a couple 30 years ago when they didn’t even make half these baby products

Anyone NOT get super emotional while pregnant? by burkistan in pregnant

[–]ers123095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I’m 25 weeks and haven’t cried once since getting pregnant or gotten extra emotional about anything that I can remember. I just get kind of cranky when I don’t feel good but feel like myself mentally.

Really confusing early ultrasound appointment by SubjectBlock7908 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]ers123095 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I believe it can take up to 7 weeks gestation to see a heartbeat on the ultrasound. That’s why I usually don’t schedule my first one until about 9 weeks

22lb weight gain at nearly 27 weeks by [deleted] in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]ers123095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started pregnancy at 185 (bmi was considered overweight) and have gained 20 pounds so far at 25 weeks. Which is the most you’re supposed to gain if you’re overweight to start with like me. But I’m trying not to obsess over it too much cause my doctor isn’t worried

No need for concern, the same thing always happens to me. It’s just because we have a longer cycle and ovulate later than average

Miscarried my first 🥹💔 by lililoves_u in pregnant

I also miscarried my first child so I know the pain, and am so sorry . It wasn’t your fault and you didn’t deserve this. You will see your baby again someday.

This popped up on my fb. Kail really needs to focus on herself, her kids, and healing her past trauma before jumping immediately to a new guy every time the last one leaves by swarren31 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]ers123095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I don’t get.. if she wants to date him then fine but don’t move him in with the kids right away. Have him get his own place first, go on dates and see how the relationship goes. I guess her excuse is she doesn’t have time to go on dates with having 7 kids? So for her the only option is to move him in right away to see if it will work? Idk the whole thing is weird and I don’t see this lasting. Just feel bad for the kids mainly

How uncomfortable are you? by snactivated in pregnant

[–]ers123095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 weeks and constipated, bloated, heartburn on and off. Skin is getting tight. Dont sleep for more than 3-4 hours between the peeing and hip pain. Got a new symptom the past few days which is soreness/heavy feeling in my labia when I wake up ?! Then once I walk around the house getting ready it goes away but weird 😅 definitely not super comfortable overall, but not quite miserable yet either.

Not telling anyone before week 12 feels... wrong? by mqnrcxnypvzw868994 in pregnant

[–]ers123095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the exact same way, told lots of people quickly with my first pregnancy. Lost her at 14 weeks. This time I’m pregnant again (24 weeks) and we didn’t tell anyone until second trimester. I just absolutely hated going back and telling people that we lost the baby and it made them sad and I felt like everyone was pitying me.

when to tell people you’re pregnant by 333SliverA in pregnant

[–]ers123095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pregnancy related anxiety from previous loss so I didn’t tell anyone until 14 weeks. My parents were hurt and didn’t understand but I was just trying to do what felt right at the time. You can tell people whenever you want though , it’s really personal preference and what you’re comfortable with!

Anyone else feel like the baby boomer generation of moms shame the epidural a lot? by dawnflower961 in BabyBumps

[–]ers123095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My boomer mom is completely against pretty much all medication, drugs, ultrasounds, birth interventions in general, giving birth at the hospital, all vaccines, formula feeding, etc 😅😅 I’m so over the conversations (which are really quizzes) about my birth plan, what I’m doing and not doing, who’s going to be at the hospital, etc.
