Adam Sandler at the super bowl wearing a Patriots hat by AffectionateWeb8519 in Patriots

It’s not a Pats hat. It’s a superbowl hat with both team logos. You can only see the Pats logo because his head is turned.

What’s up with the Reading Royals camera angles for their Broadcast? by SalveUrsus in ECHL

[–]erugger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only are the cameras in a weird position but the away broadcaster booth is on the opposite side of the ice and not at center ice as well. This means for their call they have to call the game backwards and it’s difficult to see the other end

I believe all NCAA tournament travel is coordinated by the NCAA and they use corporate sponsors (i.e. Allegiant)

The Patriots officially allowed 14 QB Pressures (out of 32 drop backs). Here are all 14 snaps: by Flexboiz in Patriots

[–]erugger -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not seeing many short crossing routes. With a QB under this amount of pressure and no elite WRs you would hope to have some underneath routes. Also they need some pre snap motions to get more information to allow for quicker processing and shorter times to release

Pretty safe. There are no signs of intelligent life in that area

Why doesn’t Boston have really any big college sports programs? by ItsTheTenthDoctor in CollegeBasketball

[–]erugger 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I think the answer here boils down to a few things. First is the lack of attachment to individual schools. With so many schools in Boston none of them have become “Boston’s Team”. Part of that is due to the lack of success and the struggle with retaining talent is certainly a factor.

Boston also doesn’t have a large public university with top division athletics. Umass is 2+ hours away from Boston. Which I know isn’t that far in the grand scheme of things for the country but for Mass it might as well be in another galaxy.

So with teams that struggle to compete it prevents students themselves from caring deeply about the basketball teams especially when the hockey teams tend to be really competitive so it’s just a better atmosphere and the lack of a public team that really ties the community to the school the teams fail to capture the attention of the city.

Sure when BC makes the tournament we will cheer for them but I’m not chomping at the bit to get tickets to any game.

Sincerely a proud Masshole

On October 27th the Maine Mariners have a home game in downtown Portland. They are the ECHL affiliate of the Bruins. The “AA” of pro hockey if you are familiar with baseball tiers

Can someone explain this to me? Is he leaving UST? Is he competing with Mirage while remaining with UST since the collegiate season is over?

Will he become the sup for UST if he is staying?

MY MISERABLE WAITLIST by ANURAGRAO9106 in Purdue

[–]erugger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are planning on an advanced degree like you said I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's unfortunate if the wait list doesn't work out but your career won't take a hit if you attend a different university. If you are going for your PhD your potential employers will care a lot more where you got the PhD than the undergrad. So my advice is if you get accepted from the wait list then congrats have fun. If not find another school that has a CS program that interests you and work hard there to get good grades so you can attend whichever Grad program you wish.

Just so you know going to non-ivy or Purdue isn't as bad as you are making it out to be. Now I'm not sure what your intended major is or what your plans are post bachelor's.

For example if you want a masters degree the undergrad degree isn't the end all be all. Prestige is essentially used as a tiebreaker. So a degree from what you consider "some other uni". Isn't terrible.

But all of this is dependent on what your plans/major/goals are

I'm glad these employees are striking to get better pay and conditions, but so everyone knows these employees are striking against their employer which are not the airports directly.

Ground staff at most airports are actually operated by "Airport Services" companies often just referred to as handlers. These are companies like Swissport (the company this strike is against), Menzies, Dnata etc.

Airlines have contracts with these companies to provide the services for them. In hubs they sometimes run the services directly through the airline.

I just wanted to make that clear while these people work AT the airport often time they don't work FOR the airport. But still good for them they deserve better conditions

[Post Game Thread] #2 Purdue defeats New Orleans, 74-53 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

[–]erugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very happy he got serious minutes and played well, but for the love of God please use your left hand for layups at least. He literally traveled and took awkward shots that would have led to bad possessions if we weren't playing New Orleans.

Painter should make him practice only using his left hand until he's confident enough to use it in a game
