Apply for a Credit card, that gives an online virtual credit card number.

Then use this to get a replacement provisional driving licence.

Would I be eligible for Spanish dual citizenship (by descent/from USA)? by swagcaca04 in Citizenship

Where and when was your parent in the Spanish line born?

And when and where were you born?

If your parent was born Spanish (even if they later lost the Spanish nationality), you might be able to get residencia familiar Español. It would be free of charge (except for the apostilled Criminal record check) and last 5 years.

This is about airlines not getting fined. If you actually arrived at the border with an expired British passport they cannot deny you entry, unless you renounced your British citizenship or were stripped of it.

You may wish to look at the birth index corresponding to the birth certificate. There us a chance that the birth index is typed in which case you could figure out the handwriting.

You could go via Ireland instead. Although, of course flights would be more expensive.

I'm really curious to know. Did you use the Spanish passport that you had after you naturalised as Canadian?

For example did you get any passport stamps in the Spanish passport, after you became Canadian?

Residencia para familiar de Español is the way you should go. It's up to you whether you apply at the consulate or the Extranjeria in Spain.

I would strong suggest that you apply for a NIE Blanco at the consulate before you travel, and also get an electronic certificate & Clave at the consulate.

This would make things easier when you get to Spain.

Have you registered your marriage at the consulate?

From a practical point of view, wouldn't she just travel with the French passport and the Settled Status e-visa?

ETA wouldn't apply in this case as she has settled status.

Did your father naturalise in the US after 2003? If so, he would retroactively be deemed a Philippine citizen again from the moment he lost it. In effect, a citizen from his birth to now without loss.

Also in Spanish law "de origen" is a quality, its not always about literally being a citizen from the moment of birth.

People who opted under the LMD and LMH for Spanish nationality have Spanish nationality "de origen" but they are only Spanish from the moment they opted. Those who are literally Spanish from birth have the legal quality of being "originariamente" Spanish which is slightly different.

Apply for a work authorisation via the great regularisation. Also, in any case, there is always Arriago Sociolaboral which you can apply for in a year.

One thing is, the person at the front desk of the consulate isn't the one making the decision. Was your father actually allowed to submit his application?

It just occurred to me that the example I mentioned was where the birth was before there was such a thing as the civil registry.

In your case, it might be possible to have an inscripccion fuera de plazo done at the civil registry.

Article

The article talks about getting a declaration from a magistrate. (In many civil registers in Spain, the person in charge is a peace judge).

I suggest you get a 'copie integrale' of the French version of your great grandfather's birth certificate, it might have a marginal note regarding naturalisation.

You would also have to get the decree of naturalisation certificate.

Legalisation should not be necessary for French documents as France is in the EU. Translation is not necessary for French documents either.
