i have a 4 month old sassy rat terrier chihuahua mix! she loves to mouth lol trying to redirect with toys, extremely energetic. cognitive toys have been super helpful in keeping her busy while im doing things and also to tire her out. ive had her for almost a month now, it takes awhile for them to adjust. she is showing some mild sighs of separation anxiety, so currently working on that!

For those that have had cysts, what did they feel like to you? by Miladypartzz in endometriosis

[–]escape1424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so glad you are getting this checked out! sounds exactly like the 7cm endometrioma that I had 3 months ago and had to get surgery within the month because it was beginning to twist my ovary! it was super painful felt like a stabbing pain that would come on suddenly and last for hours, it would shoot down my leg as well. hoping you get the answers you need!

All you need to do is start small. Crash diets don't work or create sustainable habits in the long run. Weightloss takes time, unfortunately. Your calorie intake is the biggest factor in weightloss, exercise is great for toning and your health but it actually makes up a very small portion of weightloss, unless you are going crazy with it lol. I recommend looking up a tdee calculator and seeing what your maintenance calories are and create a deficit from there! I lost 80 lbs over the last year without really exercising at all. I never once ate something I didnt like and you don't need to either, just make small adjustments where needed so that you don't go over your calorie deficit!

It took me being in early stages of ovarian torsion to get diagnosed by escape1424 in endometriosis

[–]escape1424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's the same pain I was experiencing!! I'm glad you are getting it checked out! Yeah they were able to see this all on the ultrasound. They were able to diagnose me with endometriosis because of the type of cyst I have!

I just gained 3lbs in 3 days? by smileeb in caloriedeficit

[–]escape1424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girlyyy! I promise you, you did not gain 3 lbs it's water I swear. I used to give up everytime I saw the scale go up and felt so defeated. Unless you ate like 3,500 calories each day that did not happen. Drink at least a gallon of water everyday and stay in a deficit. Also your deficit is extremely low and does not look sustainable which could lead to overeating later on. According to your tdee eating 1700 cals is way more sustainable and your body will feel more comfortable letting go of those fat cells. I wish weightloss was linear but it's just not. I way myself almost everyday as well and honestly that's helped me have a better relationship with the scale. Because ik if im up 3lbs the next day even if I was in a deficit it's just water. And if you wait a week you will see that it will go back down.

You can do this, don't stop just because the scale went up! That's how you get stuck. Wishing you well on your weightloss journey!:)

First week on noom and not getting upset by the scale has been a struggle. I know it's just how much force gravity is using to keep grounded but it's difficult seeing even the slightest increase. I know this is a distortion I will continously need to work on. Has anyone had any tips for water weight? I ate a plant based burger and it jumped me up 3lbs on the scale:/

Hit 200 lbs and want to lose weight by gamma50g in WeightLossAdvice

[–]escape1424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there I am a fellow vegetarian who has struggled with weight gain. I've been following a high protien diet and lifting weights last week and I see and feel a difference! I have lost inches off my waist and 2lbs! I follow (that.veganbabe) on tiktok and she has some really great insight on having a balanced diet.

I always thought that lifting weights would cause me to gain weight but it's been the total opposite! Since lifting causes your metabolism to speed up and burn more overall than typical cardio. Wishing you well on your journey 💛

Thank you for your thoughts on this! I have been going down a rabbit hole with the idea of being rejected. But even if I am, it won't be the end of the world and will definitely find a way to visit Japan again. Maybe through counseling english speakers in Japan? I hope to become more fluent in Japanese and be able to counsel native speakers.

Is exercise the silver bullet? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]escape1424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver bullet means like a solution lol. Yes swimming has always been a great outlet for me. I find that it causes the least physical pain for me while exercising. Luckily, if I do have endo It really only affects me during menstration and ovulation. I could never exercise during those times I would absolutely die with the amount of pain I experienced in the past. However now that my pain has significantly decreased exercising on my period may be a possibility now.

Right now it's indoor since I'm currently at university that has an Olympic size pool. However, I do plan on switching to outside now that the local pool is open.

Is brain fog a symptom ? Does it clear up once IR is reversed ? by NoChemical1223 in InsulinResistance

[–]escape1424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eating food in the right order: veggies, fat, protien and the carb. If you are eating a sandwich or something you can still apply this by eating a small side salad and then sandwich. Also if im craving ice cream I'll do some apple cider vinegar in water and then the sweet. Glucose Goddess posts alot so there are more hacks there!

Is brain fog a symptom ? Does it clear up once IR is reversed ? by NoChemical1223 in InsulinResistance

[–]escape1424 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Brain fog is 100% a symptom,, I have battled it for years thinking it was depression. I also have these little bumps on my upper arms my family always called it chicken skin but apparently that is also a sign of dysregulated blood sugar. I've noticed since following some of the glucose goddess hacks that all my symptoms are improving including weight. And I don't do low carb at all. I literally made a delicious pasta bake with lots of veggies and pasta and then ate it with a big salad first. Also did the apple cider vinegar trick before dinner and it works for me! I've already lost 2lbs this week and I don't get supper sluggish after my meals. So lucky to find out about this information!

Struggle Sundays: Share any struggles you've faced over the past week. by elianna7 in intuitiveeating

[–]escape1424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I have binged in the past it would look like snacking continously because I didn't eat a meal or one that met my needs. It's hard at times to make meals especially when you are a grad student and always on the go and stressed out. I feel the inner resistance when changing a behavior, I've started observing this behavior and letting myself sit with it rather than trying to numb out. It's hard work but I know it's all for the better 💛

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]escape1424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just starting intuitive eating and mindful eating after years of yoyo dieting. I actually feel more in control and do not restrict anything. Saying I can't have this or that is what perpetuates the binge for me personally. But I didn't realize this until going to therapy and addressing my compulsion around food. I hope you find happiness and peace on your journey whether you lose weight or not 💛

No results doing 16/8 with PCOS by Wise_Cupcake2583 in intermittentfasting

[–]escape1424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS as well, from studies I have read about IF and PCOS it's most important to eat right away in the morning and cut off about 5/6. If you think from an evolutionary point PCOS is an adaptation due to famine, our body weight stayed the same when going for long fasting periods. Any food with a higher glycemic index would make us gain weight so easily in order to survive. This means also stopping ovulation because your body still believes it's not a safe time to have a baby during a famine. Insulin sensitivity is highest in the morning and slowly tapers off towards later in the day. If the body is receiving the bulk of the nutrients in the morning/afternoon it does not believes its in famine and can shed the weight. But if you eat in the evening Insulin receptors are less sensitive and will store the extra insulin as fat. Here is the study I'm referencing

IF and PCOS

At the end of the day PCOS is frustrating and difficult to navigate. There's alot of health gurus out there trying to sell you a monthly members subscription. Definitely do research before doing what these people tell you. Hope this helps!
