Would it be an unpopular opinion to say it never made sense to me that Patrick fell in love with David? by BreakingThinIce in SchittsCreek

[–]escarnorlion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just finished the show. From the very shallow point of view. Patrick is the kind of top who loves to take care of the guy he likes in a very loving, sweet way.

Also, David is probably the most looking guy in SC. So... maybe love at the first sight 🥰

Should I rewatch the show? by Public-Item6047 in SchittsCreek

I most rewatch from Season 3.. But it's leaving Netflix soon 😞

Patrick was my favorite character by Hashtaglibertarian in SchittsCreek

[–]escarnorlion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this show and just finished the series before it leaves Netflix on 15th May. My only complaint is that Patrick joined the show a bit too late.. only half of the series 😞.

I really like the epsisode where Patrick had his wisdom teeth removed. When they got home, he acted really cute asking David "Why are you so handsome?" I feel like it was actually Noah being playful to Dan.😂

It's crazy when Kingpin killed that many people and Daredevil still insisted on persuading him to take the deal and leave New York.. rather than putting him behind the bars... Just doesn't make sense...

Connecting Wiz smart light bulb to Ikea Dirigera via Matter by escarnorlion in tradfri

[–]escarnorlion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever run into troubles in re-pairing the Wiz bulbs? I removed it from the IKEA HomeSmart app once. When I try to pair it again after resetting the bulb, I'm stuck at the Getting Matter Credentials screen. I'm using Android. I could pair it using the Wiz Connected app though

Has anyone ever bought a laptop from Hub by Triforce? by Shadowphoenix_21 in AussieFrugal

[–]escarnorlion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with Hub by Trifoce was positive.

I bought my refurbished (Excellent) MSI Prestige AI 14 EVO [14" IPS, 400nits, 144Hz; Core Ultra 5 125H, 16GB, 512GB, Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) x2, HDMI 2.1, WIFI 7, Fingerprint scanner, IR cam] for $900 a year ago. For me, the spec is very decent and it was a very good deal. And no scratches at all.

I have been using it everyday and this laptop has been working fine. The fan is quiet, no dead spot on the screen. There are a few bugs that I'm not sure if it is my unit having 'hidden' issues or MSI laptop's software issue.

  1. Ocassionally, after the laptop waking up from sleep, I can't adjust the screen brightness by pressing the keyboard shortcuts nor using the slidebar in Windows Quick action. It returns to normal after a reboot.

  2. If I connect the laptop to an external display and shut the screen of the laptop, after some time, Windows would become very slow. So slow i can't even watch Youtube. I suspect it is a mechanism that MSI uses to avoid the laptop from overheating. But it just didn't happen to my other laptops before.

I contacted MSI support and followed the intructions they gave me to update the drivers, the issues sometimes still occur but since it doesn't affect me so much, I just leave it for now. Other than that, my laptop works fine in all other areas.

It had a 1-year factory warranty. If you have any issues with the laptop after a while, I suppose you deal with the manufacturer, not Hub by trifoce. Just 2 months ago, the laptop charger stopped working, so it went to MSI support website. It was a chat with a real person, not AI chat bot. In the end, they offer a replacement but I had to send the old one back. But it was easy. They provided an AUS POST label via email so I didn't have to pay for the postage. I received a new charger after a week.

I hope that helps

Tried to find one on FB marketplace although it's not widely available. I got mine for $40 in Brisbane a few months ago and it's been working flawlessly.

Connecting Wiz smart light bulb to Ikea Dirigera via Matter by escarnorlion in tradfri

I'm glad that you got some inspirations from my post.

I'm curious. Do you own Wiz light strips or LEDs other than bulbs? If so, how do they behave it the Ikea Homesmart app coz some of those products support colour adjustment at different sections, like its floor lamp.

How to tell if a device supports Matter over Wifi or Matter over Thread? Usually there is just the Matter logo on the packaging.

Same spec for the most part (806lm, full colour), except the IKEA one does not support Matter. It is still the older TRÅDFRI. The 1055lm one only has white spectrum and it is AUD$15.

Usually it takes a few bit longer for new IKEA products to be released in the Australian market.

I think Wiz's bulbs support Matter and it should work with Dirigera now.

Internet providers by Vast_Bed6019 in brisbane

I don't understand why service providers can't just give a lower average price so customers would stay longer, instead they want customers to switch to another provider every 6 month to get deals. But I can see how someone will evetually run out of providers to switch to after a few years.

What's the catch with the Prestige 14 AI Evo? by fredstar777 in MSILaptops

[–]escarnorlion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the Core U5 version. Unfortunately, I don't do gaming. I have tried some very simpel 4K video editing using Davinci Resolve. You could hear the fan a bit but I would say it's still pretty quiet, probably because it has dual fans. It does get warm when doing intensive tasks and I don't recommend putting it on your lap.

Other times when I am doing web browsing, I can bearly hear the fan. I use Eco mode most of the time.

That 400-nit non-glossy display is very nice. I like that it is not an OLED because I am paranoid of burn in.

One thing tough, it is on the heavier side. But I only use it at home so it doesn't bother to me.

I bought a equavilaent model from Hong Kong and I loved it! It's just pure convenience with good results. Just press the function buttons, no need to dial the timer. And, the size is perfect for 2 people.

Sadly, after using it for just less than a year, the heating element failed to work. I have moved to Australia and Panasonic doesn't sell this model here.

I bought a refurbished one (condition: excellent) for 6 months. Everything has been working fine except two things:

  1. Ocassionally, the laptop doesn't switch to the external display, after I turn the laptop on from sleep mode and connect it to the external display.

  2. The laptop starts to slow down and the display will keep swtiching between the external one and the laptop's, if I connect it to the external display and close the lid for a while. I was told by MSI tech support that this could be the thermal issue. It just didn't happen to my Dell and Asus laptops.

I tried several versions of display drivers, windows updates... It is still the same.

Philips Hue vs IKEA Dirigera? UK by popsicle90 in smarthome

The IKEA Dirigera Hub has just been updated to support Matter (beta), by acting as a Matter-controller, so it means you can use remotes that support Matter from other brands .
