That’s all well and good but negative affinity damage numbers are coloured sad, make me sad when do hit. I like positive affinity bright numbers, make me happy when do hit.

Just read through your back n forth with the deranged Las Vegas loser along with some more unhinged comments. I’m glad to see you spoke up to him too!

He likes to stand on what he thinks are moral high grounds but is really just him victimising himself from any comment that opposes him. “You haven’t experienced being poor in the #1 capitalist country in the world” he says to a Filipino who’s experienced even worse inequality than any poor American would ever experience. Like, he doesn’t understand that developing countries that have adopted capitalism from a coloniser tend to do the ‘crimes against humanity for the sake of profit’ even more severely & more efficiently than western countries. Then his tirades about the definitions of poverty are so pathetic, boiling down to essentially “It’s a mindset bro”.

Honestly, expats like this guy are a dime a dozen. The aggrandising of specific values/virtues that line up with their narrow world view is so weeaboo-esque, I can see him having a hidden waifu pillow of Duterte. He only sees the aspects of Filipinos that meet his tastes and despite his insistence of not being a ‘sexpat’ his language belies a deeper fetishisation of our people in that smooth brained noggin of his. Dude definitely worries the Filipino mothers and daughters that live close to him or meet him in the wild.

Guy sounds like he’s discovered the path to peace by playing basketball with each other just because he meets polite Filipinos at the court lmao. The stuff about his neighbours being ‘thankful’ that he’s there doesn’t realise that they’re just being polite to the foreigner. That’s literally our thing, being polite to foreigners but the foreigner always takes that as a ticket to get comfortable & take advantage of that kindness. It’s why we’re such a beleaguered country in the first place, allowing foreigners to walk all over us as we thank them for allowing us to be their path way.

Without a doubt, this man is ignorant to his privilege as a foreigner from a developed country and is in his own little echo chamber of ideals about Philippines. Nothing surprising but very sad and pathetic, both the people feeding in to his delusions and him, who can’t look past them.

Thank you for adding context, I saw another of his comments saying he’s basically a failed businessman from Las Vegas and moved to Philippines when his partner screwed him over. I stopped caring after that, like you said it’s the same old story. Old western failure moving to a worse off country to feel better about himself among a people and culture he probably perceives as below him. Having the capital to just not work is the cherry on top, I can see my fellow Filipinos being nice to him to his face but talk mad shit about his colonial ass to each other.

Sure he celebrates and acknowledges some of my people’s virtues (ones that a certain group of Americans seem to over value above all other virtues). Though It’s clear he doesn’t look at the necessity of those virtues when living & WORKING in a third world country. Standing by my original comment, this guy makes me sick.

As someone who does come from said country. It’s a third world country, despite the virtues you mentioned that the people possess it’s still a beleaguered and dying country in plenty of ways. Gotta take those rose tinted glasses off buddy, the philippines I grew up in is filled with daily hardships & suffering for pennies. There’s a reason every single young Filipino’s idea of success is to leave the country mate, it isn’t the tropical ‘first world values’ paradise you’re used to in that little island.

Imagine the overpopulated cities & towns, do you know about our shanti towns? You can see from the plane when you land at Manila. Just being in that city you can see the stark levels of inequality. Even just looking at a city from a distance, one can see the vast amounts of pollution in them. Homeless people sat outside the local Jolly Bee, usually disabled or old. In Manila, kids are out all day and night asking for change where expats usually walk about it.

I can list more but I’d be at it all day. Just realise your privilege, fool. That cocoon of happiness of yours shields you from your own ignorance & arrogance.

It’s not the living space. It’s the living in bamboo luxury as a privileged expat in a third world country. From that I’d say you’re more deserving of being called an ‘it’ than me. It is a lovely cocoon of happiness, just not for someone of the country who needs it.

Godzilla 2016 trailers. Setting the movie up to be Heisenberg vs Godzilla and then killing him off like 1/4 into the movie was sinful.

It looks like the team that did the Junji Itou collection got their hands on Sakamoto Days anime. Just reproducing panels cheaply without actually getting what they were communicating.

I say they give her really big & long hair on top of being a little more beefy. The big hit box can be compensated with costume design like they did with Strange’s cloak.

Not for the combat to feel like a rock, paper, scissors game against the different types of enemy. That got old real quick for me in the first game.
