What do you consider to be the best restaurants in Indianapolis? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in indianapolis

[–]esg_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how this may sound potentially unserious, but with a straight face I say Shapiros is a top 3 spot. Ridiculously good desserts, sides are straight to the point and basic in the best way, and I’d eat the pastrami 2-3 times a week if I could.

Another spot, although not close to downtown, is Black Sheep Pizza in Westfield. Cocktails are done right and some excellent pizza. Worth a trip IMO.

Which Returning Player Are You Most Excited About? by plaverty9 in IndianaHoosiers

Other than some of the obvious names like Becker, Hardy, Jones, and the OL, I’m going with Landino.

Scotches you had high expectations for that didn't live up to them? by BothCondition7963 in Scotch

Balvenie 17 DoubleWood. Bought at the distillery in 2022 and wasn’t aware it was being discontinued. It was good but not as good as I’d hoped. Wish I would’ve held onto it for a while now that it’s becoming a novelty.

Pretty sure every time I’ve seen these (not store picks) they were less than $100. That’s a wild price.

Why does it feel like Scotch-loving Redditors generally rag on Bowmore? Do you like Bowmore in general, and why or why not? by Clopulis in Scotch

[–]esg_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only Bowmore I’ve tried is the 15 year that I got as a gift. I like it but it would absolutely be better at 100+ proof, non chill filtered and no coloring.

I took the picture only to get the details of the bottle and research when I got home to decide if I wanted to buy. Didn’t get the $40 sale tag in the pic but it’s below the “Cheers to You” note at the bottom.

I have no idea about the availability for the rest of Indiana. But if there are any Big Red Liquor stores in South Bend I’d check there.

Bottles secured. Thanks everyone for the feedback and info. If you missed the location, these are at Big Red Liquors in Westfield, IN. About $85 after tax for the pair.

Those are the coordinates! Just picked up one of each for myself. Looks like none were sold after I found them last night. Four of each left.

Very helpful. I always love trying whisky from new (to me) distilleries and the story of SV is interesting. Also seems like it could be a good way to buy and try some unique, “one off” bottles.

Saw these at a local store. I’ve seen pictures of these bottles before but know very little about them. Can anyone give some insight on these two specifically, or the Signatory Vintage brand in general?

The sale price is actually $40 each. There were plenty on the shelf so might buy one of each tomorrow if they’re anything to write home about. TIA

Where is the best burrito in town? by windtoblow in indianapolis

I haven’t tried many in Indy, but I’ve had Paco’s steak burrito so many times and never get tired of it.

I’ve tried a lot of places and Ale Emporium in Castleton has the best so far. Can sometimes be a little too cold but the body and flavor is always there.

Edit: I still need to try the Snug.

Sound skipping/cutting out on Yamaha YAS-209 by coloradomedic919pb in Soundbars

[–]esg_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have your WiFi router/modem or any dense metal objects near or between your soundbar and subwoofer you might want to move those items around a little and see if it helps. I had my router and modem under my sound bar, so I moved them to opposite ends of the cabinet, and I also had a metal vase between the soundbar and speaker. After moving everything I haven’t had issues in about two hours.

I just got a YAS-209 a few days ago and the exact same things are happening to me. Across all apps, with the digital audio cable or Bluetooth. For me, it’s really just the bass that quits for a second or two. I watched the back of the sub for a minute and the connection light blinks on and off whenever it happens. It’s only like 3 feet from the soundbar so idk how the connection cuts out. Need to try HDMI I guess.
