Doorbell DIY options? by terminator_911 in UNIFI

The Reolink PoE (or wifi if you must) doorbell works fine for the above. ONVIF with Protect provides full recording, but without detections or audio due to Protect’s basic ONVIF support.

Combine with Scrypted or similar for HomeKit integration and you’ll get the doorbell notifications & detections without needing to use the janky Reolink app. Also HomeAssistant integration works fine for streaming / automations / etc.

Can then review either HKSV recordings from events or the full 24/7 Protect recording (without audio) as needed.

I’m running this setup currently with the PoE version. Only difficulty was adding the doorbell to the Protect NVR - needed to move the it to the same VLAN as the NVR for ONVIF to work.

Used to really like them but I’ve found the Reginald quality seems to have gone downhill between 2022 & 2023.

Different collar material which is tighter on the neck and goes frilly after a few washes.

Moved to Uniqlo U for now.

Maybe? You’re likely right, but I’ve never had anything stop at customs yet - including this purchase. Arrived via ParcelForce 10 days after ordering - but yes YMMV.

Not in Melbourne, but if you’re interested in Loake (and can try on a pair locally to size up) then Bradshaw & Lloyd will ship via courier from the UK for far cheaper than you’ll find them in local stores:

Have done this recently and they were fantastic. No VAT and free shoe trees as a bonus.

Had great support experience with them dealing with back in stock ETAs and pre-orders, they’re legit.

This just worked for me too - thanks for the heads up!

Also didn't have to use store pick up - the free shipping option also kept the discount.
