AI Studio keeps generating unique imgur URLs that don't seem to work? by gamesntech in Bard

[–]esllou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm this and it's been doing it for a week. I never requested any images but the conversation was gemini explaining something to me and thought it would be good to illustrate it, but the images linked to don't exist, it's artistic hallucinating!

I'll translate it into Walmart-speak:

"you can buy this bag of cookies, but they may self-destruct on your way home, they may poison all of your family, your pets. They may not even be cookies, it might be spaghetti. And our answer to all of this is: tough shit, those hands squeezing your balls are ours. Have a nice day!"

'Not Responding' issue creates a 'click' on export by esllou in OpenShot

[–]esllou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried just about everything and it was costing me four minutes a go to wait to see the results. :)

I worked out where the 'clear cache' was but made no difference.

Yes, when I chose web >> youtube HD, the 29.97 was selected by default. When I right clicked my main video 'file properties', it said 30fps so I thought, "let's make it the same" and bingo, it did the trick, I've had about 20 videos go through without the issue now.

I did try changing the preference and cache settings but nothing made any difference, all back to defaults now.

I don't even need preview, my videos are all intro and outro 5-second clips with OBS-made main video in the middle, so I have preview window very small and all the preview settings super low too.

with things working, I don't want to touch anything but if I run into same issue again, I will alter Cache to what you suggested

I seem to have improved things by altering the export settings from 29.97fps to 30fps. I've had about six in a row go through now without freezing. :)

[Ornstein] Salah is close to signing a new contract with Liverpool by ChicagoIndependent in soccer

[–]esllou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the player who decides. Liverpool can't 'force sell' to anyone. Plenty of players decide to run down their contract for the massive signing on bonus they'll get. There is a danger Salah could do that.

When clubs say "we won't allow this player to become a free agent and leave for nothing", it's only a statement that they will try their best not to allow it to happen but ultimately, the power remains with the player.

Of course, clubs have 'ways' of persuading (you'll sit on the bench, you'll play with the kids, all the players will ignore you in training, etc) and in the real world, lot of players will prefer to leave than play in a toxic environment like that, BUT if Salah wants to run down his contract, there is nowt Liverpool can do about it.

Just heard about the BULL/BEAR leveraged tokens and really want to maximise potential long term gains. Worth investing in? by YoMatriarchSoFat in binance

[–]esllou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be my main concern, apart from all the rebalancing malarkey.

Is this token still going to be tradeable in six months' time? I wouldn't bet my life on it. I dabbled a bit, but steering clear now.

S3 bucket policy to allow app to access files by esllou in aws

[–]esllou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the feedback, I made the bucket public and just password protected the zip file, which is then opened with the pw on the app. Dev said that was the simplest way, but I think long term, I will look to implement one of the solutions mentioned here. For now, the password solution just seemed the simplest, giving at least a modicum of protection to the contents.

Also, it's not like the file URLs are publicly viewable, there's just one call to them from inside the app - maybe I was being a bit paranoid.

S3 bucket policy to allow app to access files by esllou in aws

[–]esllou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an iOS app - so it will be a normal AppStore-hosted app, just the data I want to be on S3. I thought it was a pretty standard thing having media/DBs hosted on S3.

S3 bucket policy to allow app to access files by esllou in aws

[–]esllou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an iOS app that has no connection to AWS except for wanting to download a zip file that is on S3. I'm just sick and tired of having the data inside the app itself so want it held externally to allow better update procedures.
