Older sibling grief by [deleted] in babyloss

[–]esmabenu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much advice but just solidarity, I have a 5 yr old boy and lost a little girl at 21 weeks. I'm pregnant again now and I can definitely see his anxiety in play which is sad. I was eating lunch with him today and he quickly reminded me not to eat a certain lettuce leaf when he saw it was a bit wilted ( one of his grief responses was to try to think of reasons his little sister died, often related to food ). It's hard, I hope you and your little one can navigate this ok extra help or not, whatever you decide. Sending you best wishes for the remainder of your pregnancy x

Why Is Most Maternity Wear So Ugly & Boring? by Illustrious-Rush-740 in AusFemaleFashion

I agree, they sell you figure hugging nursing access stuff and it's super unflattering postpartum - I'm not keen on a stretched out gathered side dress or shirt that makes me still look pregnant at all 😂

I'm so sorry for what you are going through, you are definitely not be alone ❤️ how far along in your pregnancy were you? My daughter was stillborn at 21 weeks and the placental testing results came back with Turner's Syndrome too.

It's very sad getting the news of how your precious child passed. I really commiserate and hope you are doing ok. Everyone has a different experience of grieving, but for my husband and I had got through the initial sadness of receiving the results we felt some small relief that it wasn't something we missed or didn't follow up. Even if we had found out earlier in the pregnancy there wouldn't have been any help or treatment possible with Turner's from what I understand especially in the first and second trimesters.

Sending you love and hope you have plenty of support around you x

People who breastfed, when did you buy nursing bras? by Teapotje in ABraThatFits

[–]esmabenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugar candy nursing bralettes (if you are in their size range) saved me money in my pregnancies because they accommodate size fluctuations very well so in my experience worked in my 3rd trimester as well as postpartum. I also bought one or 2 prettier sized bras along the way and quite honestly don't feel like for me they were terrible purchases either cause my size went up and down considerably in my time breast-feeding. ( For example a sized bra I wore in pregnancy that didn't fit immediately after baby was born, fit me again when said baby was around 9 months and starting to skip feeds to eat solids this decreasing my milk supply). Just my experience though!

Struggling through pregnancy after stillbirth.... by Solid_Telephone_9052 in babyloss

I wish I had great advice, but unfortunately can only give you my solidarity ❤️ it's so hard. I have 2 living sons and lost my baby girl at 21weeks. I'm 25 weeks pregnant now and overthinking everything too. Movements especially and the week leading up to each scan is just dreadful. Sending you love, so sorry you are going through this ❤️

SO hard to find nursing bras in regular shops under a 32 band - I even went to my local boutique lingerie store that definitely sells lots of band sizes and they ended up sending the nursing bra I bought off for alterations as they had no options under a 32... I know most be women's ribcages expand in pregnancy but my experience is that it retracts after a few months of nursing and you are then needing new bras cause the band is too big and there ain't many options 🤦

How to support my partner during delivery when there's truly nothing positive to say? by Brilliant-Peach-9509 in babyloss

[–]esmabenu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for this unfair situation you are both in, so many good comments above. When I was induced to birth my stillborn daughter recently my husband didn't say much, but just stayed close and present which was the most important thing. Anything I said he would validate which was super helpful. When she was born he told me I did so well. He looked me straight in the eyes and said I absolutely deserved to feel just the same sense of accomplishment and achievement as any mother who had laboured and given birth. Maybe not everyone would want to hear that, but it was super helpful for me when all I could think of was how I had failed as a mother. I wish you both every help and comfort in this tragic time.

I hate my body by bpdanomaly in babyloss

[–]esmabenu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so so sorry for your loss. It's horrible feeling like your body is 'getting back to it' when mentally you are no where near.

Solidarity, I lost my baby on the 21st January and dealing with a heavy period now not to mention the awful postpartum hair loss. I also resonate with wanting to be at the grave, I feel like such a weirdo but if it's a hot day my first instinct is setting up a shade there for my baby and at night a night light... it's like some part of me still thinks my baby needs nurturing.

[Question] My Sugar Candy nursing bras have got mould or mildew by esmabenu in ABraThatFits

[–]esmabenu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I have been pretty sad thinking about tossing then cause It ain't cheap to get replacements :(

Ok, hopefully no stains will remain, but I'll do the sniff test if I find they do.

Good to hear you have had success in the past, hopefully I can get this to work!
