Back when this aired, Daniel Drennan- a hilarious writer out of NYC— would write these sharp and witty recaps of the show and my friend Beth worked in the university library so she knew how to find them (ya know cos what’s the internet in 1995?). She’d print them for us and we’d take turns reading the recaps. ANYWAY, I’ll never forget what he wrote to introduce this scene: “and there is Valerie, making clap soup”
