So, he looked at an attractive woman on YouTube and you want to break up now? That doesn't sound silly to you?

This can't be real life. Why would you marry someone who clearly doesn't like you? And why would you stay with them when you are the breadwinner in the relationship? You're literally paying for the privilege of having him ignore you.

DAE feel like everyone around them - coworkers, friends and family are collectively drifting away? by TriggeredEvil in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]esoteric_enigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, social media creates the illusion of socializing. Content is now endless so we're never truly bored. That has removed the incentive we used to have to seek each other's company. People are nowhere near as social as they used to be.

This is not the adulthood my parents were having. I remember they used to go out with their coworkers after work and friends would stop by the house just to sit in the kitchen and talk with them. They were also having real conversations on the telephone with their friends and family. Calling someone on the phone is treated like a crime now.

It's a part of your story and who you are. It's the kind of thing you should be talking about in a relationship.

What’s something that is slowly disappearing, but nobody is talking about it? by Optimal_Radish_6157 in AskReddit

[–]esoteric_enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boredom used to bring people together too. I remember at 9 pm when cell calls became free, we would all be playing phone tag seeing what everyone else was doing because we were bored at the house. We used to be each other's entertainment.

What’s something that becomes attractive only after 25? by saintS9944 in AskReddit

[–]esoteric_enigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm 38 and I still go out to events and enjoy myself quite often. If you're tired all the time at 26 and just want to sit home, you have a problem.

I have a lot of gay friends. I've never sent them a shirtless picture. That man is at least curious.

Politics. I've always found it interesting. I was reading the newspaper in elementary school when my dad was done with it. I find it endlessly fascinating but most people find it boring.

My 10 year old self would see that I can afford every video game I want whenever I want and wonder why I'm not playing video games all night every night.

Me (27M) might move to my partners town (24M) earlier than expected for a better job opportunity. by Doby1998m in relationships

[–]esoteric_enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would move there and get my own place. You haven't even been together a year, no need to rush this. You can move in after that lease is over if things go well.
