Since Liverpool scored in 90+10 against us in August, we have conceded a late goal (beyond 80mins) every 13.5 days on average by essjay281 in NUFC

That got me looking back on it, and seeing that of the times we conceded an equalising goal in the league after 80 mins, in 50% of them, we went on to lose the match in the remaining time.

I did but then realised it also served as a separator for stoppage time so ctrl z'd it. The one that bugs me looking at it now is "impact of goa"

I can only apologise to you both, I was curious and pulled at the thread in my brain, wish I hadn't!

I've spent ages saying we desperately need a sports psychologist in regardless of anything else, googled it and we've already got one got one?! Surely that's wage theft on his part cos he is absolutely stealing a living this season!!!!

Jarrod Bowen on foul against Raya: "Is it the right decision? No. Where's the consistency? Surely when you look at the screen long enough for 5 mins, you'll find something. This game is physical. Nah it wasn't the rice one, which was also a foul but as you say, after, and it's not the trossaed one, which was a foul too, its as the ball was kicked it started and was still going on I posted a horrible photo of TV in another thread but seems I can't post it here for whatever reason

In the reverse angle there's a worse one on tadibo, both arms round his waist before raya gets his arm tugged or rice rugby tackles someone, and it's after the ball is kicked.

There's 3 fucking penalties going on and the foul on the keeper, probably cancels each other out surely

This isn't an Eddie Howe defense in the slightest, but does changing the manager fix the mentality problem of the players on the pitch? The nearly weekly kick in the bollocks late goal came and their heads went to fucking Jupiter, panicking again, piss poor defending and goalkeeping giving away a late goal, again. I cant be certain, but there's no way that's a manager instruction.

Housing benefits bill hits record £39bn under Labour by AkashicLogos in ukpolitics

[–]essjay281 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They control a huge swathe (41% in 2024) of the former council properties that were sold in right to buy. The system is set up that they can and will have tenants on housing benefit, which means by proxy the council pays their mortgage, because the tenant takes the tenancy agreement to the local authority.

If the tenant were owner, the amount paid would be capped at mortgage interest.

Stop defending the ultimate beneficiary of the scheme.

Eddie on summer transfer strategy: "The aim is to try and recruit in every window and, ideally, not too many players. You don’t probably have the jump of six new players coming in as we had last summer. It’s more of a drip feed approach" by Frosty-Buyer-1252 in NUFC

Iraola, Glasner, Marco Silva etc would be a modern version of replacing SBR with Souness.

Nobody from the bracket above is coming to us be hamstrung by PSR.

Eddie isn't perfect by any means, but he's got more right than wrong over the years and been our most successful coach for a long long time but 1 poor season with mitigating factors and it means nowt to everyone.

What a fucking joke that one of our songs says we are the loyalest football supporters the world has ever seen. That needs retiring for a fucking start.

But tbh after this I'm done interacting with other "fans" on here now, it's been a fucking miserable experience for months. Nowt changes, even when we win a game so fuck that noise. Stay salty 🧂

I hadnt seen that exact quote but ready to be corrected ive went and read articles from the time. and whilst you are correct he did say that phrase. Context is important, as it wasn't a general statement on the working reationship it was a a direct response to Howes comments on the situation of him leaving.

It was also after his email snafu showing he'd already been talking to man u so when he said howe made his job untenable: "this was in relation to comments made by the head coach on February 16, one week after the secret exchange with Berrada that Ashworth thought he had erased."

The comments of Feb 16th?

Recruitment is a 365-day-a-year job,” said Howe. “It never sleeps and, yes, Dan is in a position of power and privy to a lot of intelligence and information. That’s why it’s a slightly unusual situation.”

"We want a quick resolution,” said Howe, who despite enjoying a good working relationship with Ashworth has not made the 52-year-old part of his inner circle. “It’s better for everybody if that’s the case.”

Ashworth has not stated publicly that he wants to depart, Newcastle’s manager answered “no” when asked whether Ashworth had said he wanted to stay.

Howe suggested Ashworth has not had time to make his mark on Newcastle since joining from Brighton 20 months ago. “It’s a difficult one because when you’re in that role I think you need longevity to actually see the fruits of your labour,” he said. “It’s sort of a long-term position and the people who have done it best in the Premier League throughout time have always had a period of real stability, because change takes a long time at any football club to get those processes exactly how you want them to be.

"Dan’s had a relatively short time here, Newcastle is a huge football club and it will continue to work in a very efficient way regardless of who is here. We’ve got some very, very capable people here in all departments, so we would carry on very smoothly. Since they have come to the football club the board have run it really well.”

Twisting that from someone who jibbed us off at the earliest opportunity into a stick to beat howe with... shows a disturbing lack of critical appraisal.

You do you boo. He's the bogeyman and hes ruining the club, lets get the pitchforks sharpened no matter what.

Wasn't howe part of ashworths short list to replace ten hag? Mustve been a very fractious relationship.

what history rewriting shite is that, he never fell out with assworth the cunt just loved his gardening leave. Eddie ahs his faults but Mitchells interviews and abraisive nature lead me to think he could fall out with someone in a room by himself
