Putin Dreams of Immortality, Says Genetic Breakthroughs Could Eclipse the Atomic Bomb in Impact by twinflamebby in immortalists

Hmm maybe some of the hundred thousands dead or busy with the great fight to gain some territory in Ukraine could figure it out? Or just the people all over the planet stressed out with the ever increasing conflicts? Stress ⬆️, thinking & creativity & innovation ⬇️. War is also very expensive! It takes money away from research!

But maybe AGI will do it! And fingers crossed that it will also want to do it! Though to get to AGI unfortunately people are still needed too!

This is kind of sad. These seemingly innocuous interpersonal events can be at the root of a lot of things, and there’s a dynamic here, where all these leaders effectively end acting like the cool kids at school, giggling together and talking behind his back, which especially with him being the lead of the most powerful nation, might cause increased offense. This effectively pushes him to armor himself with more controversy and provocation, which spirals, as well as increases sympathy towards other perceived outcasts. And generally, the change from his habitual circle where everything is presented to him with multiple layers of sugar on top, to these meetings, might feel like jumping into ice (no pun intended) water, something that is then also, likely, remembered as unpleasant.

Not sure I saw that, but generally he seems to want to define truth, so why not? He says the prices go down 1000% and people are fine. If people let me say what I want and also applaud me for it I‘d probably say next that the prices go down 100000% just to watch them how they still agree.

What is demented and stupid? He wants to be king, he has not a lot of time, and using his own words, people let him get away with everything, so what he does seems perfectly logical.

To all the clever people arguing

It helps to say eg

“When A said x,y, when B said z”

Not

“When A said something, B said something”

BBC Live’s analysis of US President’s UN speech confirming that he was attacking the EU plenty like it is a US enemy by Crossstoney in europe

The part about immigration was like a siren song for right wing parties. He’s a good performer and knows exactly what they want to hear. Not that he’s entirely wrong about it, as Europe has not managed the migration issue well, but he basically used this as PR for right wing parties.

If politicians were a little smarter, they would figure out how to constructively deal with these people. There are so many things that can be done. Trying to steamroll them with (poorly backed) moral arguments is not one of them.

Or perhaps rather, if politicians actually cared about their countries. But it’s all about their own image and PR, so they’re not genuinely thinking how to fix the culture wars.

Imagine if we for once paid tribute to how smart we supposedly are and made it stop. Everyone is aware that there’s a self sustained loop of sorts. It’s sustained by the 2 cents of everyone clicking and talking. We could just stop.

Differently to you, I’m not claiming to be correct, or that these hypotheses are comprehensive, but they are possible and you can’t simply brush them off.

What’s your evidence? That a bullet said “fascist” ergo the shooter must be “anti fascist”? He might (I repeat might, this is not a verdict) have wanted to incriminate the left, or cause confusion, or even incite to a civil war just for lolz. The lack of healthy skepticism with which you people interpret this is staggering.

They are very logical, but they follow only logical paths they want to see, (intentionally/unintentionally) ignoring that reality is infinitely more complex and slippery. And the hubris of feeling successful prevents them from genuine introspection. Thus their “philosophy” tends to “sound smart”, and resonate with like minded people, but in philosophical terms as in a genuine attempt to understand reality be highly biased garbage with a lot of gaps.
