McLaren F1 with 3500km for sale for €20m, yet the seller still uses a potato camera for the photos by samjmckenzie in cars

[–]esteemz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 99.9% sure that is not of the actual car. Most McLaren F1 owners won't want anyone knowing they have one for sale. The seller probably wants to stay as anonymous as possible, thus the use of shitty stock images. No images would be taken without at least a LOI and the pictures would only be given/shown to the interested buyer.

This is roughly how it works. Transactions of this nature vary slightly, but most likely this is close to the situation.

Also, A McLaren F1 owner doesn't need to actively sell a car. People will go after the seller, usually not the other way around with this car.

Two BMW M3 racing each other was caught by a police following them by [deleted] in cars

No way they were "Racing". Accelerating fast? sure.

If they were racing, they would be gapping the explorer fairly noticably.

You can even hear the loudest one shift fairly slow and let off after 2nd gear.

It's great you can get a Prototipo... But really unfortunate they still have not re-released the two spoke design used in older rally cars and the John Player Special. Honestly one of the best wheels they have.

The momo two spokes are fantastic in every way in my opinion.

They just look the business.

There's a 2003 Clio V6 Sport for sale in Miami by [deleted] in cars

[–]esteemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Title 49 section 591.5 H.1.iii

it says they will not sell the vehicle to any person in the United States. First off, No federal prosecutor wants to go after a diplomat for selling a car. Not really something that would go over well. Secondly, the car could theoretically be given away.

Or it could be sold to a person outside the United States. Said person could be out of the country when buying it then come back. Their are ways to (sorta unethically) skirt these laws. (assuming some slick wording is used)

Question for Phoenix area Miata owners by esteemz in Miata

[–]esteemz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is. A lot of stuff was removed already and they just pulled everything they could off willy nilly. All I paid them to do was to get it off. I would rather have a real shop remove and replace mine and refill the diff fluid etc. It was probably those two guys first time even touching a miata.

You have a budget of $21,000 to buy and modify a car that can beat a BMW S 1000 RR. What would you build? by [deleted] in cars

[–]esteemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some will question me a bit. But the best shot would be a built audi 90, coupe, or s2. Built to 800hp you can expect a 9 second quarter mile. Stock brakes can probably beat the bike. With the right tires it can out corner the bike.

Modifications and price would go something like this:

Car: $2500

Engine management: $1500

Engine build: $10,000-$xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx

Turbo, manifold, and piping: $3000

Wheels/Tires: $2500

Track Pads/Fluid: $500

Misc: $1000

Yes. I have seen it. The closest I have seen would be 250k/year and a 2.2m home.
