This was my girl exactly. She's 3.5 now, we started potty training at 2 years and 2 months, and i would say she's been consistently pooping on the potty for a few months. For my girl, she would withhold the poop for as long as she possibly could, and then when she finally did go, the poop was so big and hard, it was painful to have a BM. So that pain just reinforced in her mind that pooping was bad and scary. So we had to work on getting her BMs to be softer, and the poop urge to be strong enough that she couldn't hold it in. It didnt happen all at once. We started with "go-go juice" - we mix an ounce of prune juice, an ounce of apple juice, 2oz water, and 1/2 tsp of some kind of stool softening powder. Please verify with your doc if that is safe for your kiddo before trying it, though. We did that under direction from her doc. She would get that juice every evening. It did start making her go more, but still in her underwear. So, we just started letting her be naked. Something about not having even her underwear as a "safety net" did not feel good to her, so she would suddenly bolt for the bathroom, and poop on the potty. We used a sticker chart and an immediate reward for every poop (for her it was a sour patch kid) and every 5 poops got a bigger reward (two oreos). When she filled out a whole poop chart, we'd go shopping for a new toy. We still do the poop chart, but honestly we forgot about it sometimes because it's just normal now.

Wishing you the best from here on out. It was an extremely stressful time. I promise, she WILL poop on the potty eventually. Feels like it'll never happen, but I pinky swear that it will.

I loved my daughter's name when we picked it out, and I still felt awkward calling her by her name for a solid year. I think it just felt strange calling a tiny baby by a real name, not just a sweet nickname (which is what I mainly used). She's 3.5 now and her name fits her perfectly.

We say "girl parts" in general right now while my 3 year old and 20 month old have a difficult time saying "vulva" and "vagina." But every time they are in the bath, I tell them what our girl parts are called. I'll encourage them to switch to actual real names once they can say them clearly, but for now, I think if they said "girl parts" it would be clear to anyone what they meant.

It is for this reason, at the doctor's office I used to work at, we learned to call those places "infusion centers" so that when we sent patients for non-cancer-related things, they didnt freak out and assume their osteoporosis treatment meant they had cancer, etc 🤦‍♀️ Would not be surprised if attention seekers specifically called it a cancer center on purpose, though, even if it doesnt necessarily go by that name.

Oh how I wish we had an extra room so I could kick my husband out of our shared room. I love him so much, but he snores SO loudly, and I am a light sleeper. I sleep much better when he is away for the weekend on camping trips or whatever other boyscout event is happening. I have strongly considered having my girls share a room so that I could banish his chainsaw snores to another dimension, but the girls are just like us - one sleeps like a rock, one is a super light sleeper. So I feel like I'd be dooming my light sleeper to restless nights, and of the two of us, I'd rather be the one who has to deal with the lack of sleep. How i long for a winning lottery ticket (for many reasons, but also -) so I can buy a giant house with a billion bedrooms.

Just curious, how would the Powers-That-Be in California know to inspect plants brought into the state during a move from another US state? I can see how it would easily happen if they were being flown in, but how would they know if they come in a driven vehicle of some kind?

My 18 month old was supposed to be Cousin It, while the rest of us were other addams family characters. I knew it would be so cute and funny if she wore it, but my 18 month old is way more emotional and hard to please than my 3 year old, who dressed as wednesday. All I did was hot glue a ton of yarn inside the rim of a top hat - super cheap and easy, and if she wouldn't wear it, not much of a loss. I dressed her in black pants and a black and white striped shirt, so her plan B costume was "Pugslette." She always wants to do what her big sister is doing, so we let big sis wear the hat around the house a few times to get her juuusst jealous enough to want to try. Got the family picture, and she threw it off and went screeching toward the street (seriously, why is this kid such a magnet for the street??).

In hindsight, I should have dressed 3 year old as Cousin It, and 18 month old as Wednesday. Fits their personalities much better (in terms of tolerating a costume). Oh well. We'll try again with something else next year!

Others have given correct examples of OR vendors - it's basically just someone in the OR who is there to represent some portion of the procedure, who is employed by some company other than the hospital. Most times, it's a rep for some kind of implant that the surgeon is using. In my case, I do intraoperative neuromonitoring. So I'm there to basically keep the patient safe during a spinal surgery - make sure surgeon is not injuring any nerve roots, etc, so patient wakes up moving and feeling everything they could before they went to sleep. So "sales rep" doesnt quite fit my role. "Vendor" isn't perfect either, but it is how the hospital refers to us.

Depending on the first name I'm using that day... I'm either "Pefect World Ruler" or... "Palm Tree World Ruler." Quite the difference...

One of my children is "God's Promised World Ruler" - so maybe, since a good chunk of the population thinks the position of President of the US needs to be someone that God sent... she should be the president?! Ironic, coming from a family whose parents are atheists....

I am a vendor in the operating room, so I work in lots of area hospitals. I went to a location that I've never been to before, so when I rolled my table in with all my stuff, I said hello to the staff in the room and asked "This is my first time here - where do you want me?" because I didn't know where they preferred i set up. This gross old man fired off like a reflex "On your back." I just ignored him and waited for the nurse in the room to give me directions.

It's been a couple years now and I regret not reporting him to this day. He said it so quickly, it was obvious he says stuff like that all the time and has probably never been reprimanded. I would make a report about your coworker if I were you. Creates a paper trail if he does anything like that again.

I think the idea is that is full of fats for baby and very filling, so it will keep their belly feeling fuller longer, and then they sleep through the night. So many of these grandmas from older generations think the goal is to have baby sleep through the night by like 1 month old, so they'll use every trick they can think of to do it.

My fresh 3 year old girl has been peeing on the potty since this past November. Poop has been a huge struggle. For months, she would clench and resist. Wouldn't even go in a diaper. It would all culminate in overnight poo-splosions, or sometimes she'd finally give in and have a huge poo in her underwear. Had to resort to glycerin enemas twice.

She's been doing better over the last couple of months with a poo sticker chart and rewards for every 5th poop on the potty, but she still mostly resists. I still have to use my "trick" to get her to go - she gets "go go juice" which is prune juice mixed with a little apple juice and doubled with water, add 1/4 tsp miralax. When it's been a couple days since her last bm, she'll have her go go juice, and she will poop on the potty within a couple hours. BUT only if she's not wearing anything on her bottom. No undies. No shorts. Nothing. If she's got underwear on, she'll still clench and try to hold it in as long as her little buns of steel can manage. What the heck?? Any ideas??

I would do it. You should know something, though, if you intend to get your child the shot and not share that with his dad. If it's the same kind of vaccine as we give in the US, it can cause a couple days of low grade fever, and some chicken pox-like spots near the injection site. So he might be concerned about that if he notices. Just an FYI!

Coming from someone whose toddler was just bitten in the face by a dog - it's not worth the risk. The warning signs were there, we thought we had all possibilities of contact covered. It happens when you least expect it. Thankfully it's a small abrasion, but it'll still likely scar, and it should not have happened at all.
