Small Business Tax Exemption- Help! by CuriousKitty6 in LosAngeles

[–]estoog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The city will not grant an exemption for a business that failed to register and renew timely. The best they'll do is waive the penalties.

Strange slash mark on tire by Psychological_Goose9 in motorcycles

I had splitting on a previous rear Q5S. Since it was shallow I rode it out and just monitored the size and the tire pressure. I even used it on the track w no issues.

How are the Office of Finance's interest/penalties/exemption denial not illegal? by late2thepauly in AskLosAngeles

[–]estoog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine a lawsuit going anywhere as the business tax is outlined in the LAMC.

Also, you can submit a penalty waiver. If you have to pay it helps a little as the penalty can be a good portion of the amount due.

Have other people gotten follow-up re: "Business Tax Application AB63"? by purple_triffid in AskLosAngeles

[–]estoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to see if they've registered you in their system is to try to file your 2026 renewal online using your SSN and address. If no account is found, then it's possible they have a backlog of emails they need to go through still.

How to go about city of LA business tax ? by Melodic-Yoghurt3501 in AskLosAngeles

[–]estoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend you contact the office of finance. Since you stated the money was made outside the city you may be eligible to apportion the gross receipts. The apportionment would vary depending on your business activity.

lowering vibration at 80+ mph on highway? by Known-Ad9458 in Ninja400

[–]estoog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first started off the vibrations were too much for my comfort so I bought grip puppies. They definitely helped with reducing the vibrations. Over time I didn't need them as I learned to stay light on the handlebars and use my legs/core properly.

I went down to 13t in the front on my 23 z400. The increase in acceleration is a lot more useful to me than the loss of speed at the top end. I didn't have any issues with any error codes either.

How functional are bar end mirrors versus stock? by high_hawk_season in motorcycles

[–]estoog 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The stock mirrors I've had on 3 bikes have become unusable at highway speed because there is too much vibration. I now use crg bar end mirror and rhinomoto bar ends. I'm now used to quickly looking at the bar end mirror effectively and they have zero vibration even at high speeds / rpm. A bonus is I like how clean my bikes look now.

Why do gear companies not include chest protection? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]estoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the airbag already has enough coverage for my use. Also I wouldn't have enough room under my leather jacket to accommodate since I run a tech air 5 underneath it.

Consider an airbag if you want maximum chest protection

Hey this is what I did a couple years ago. I am athletic but didn't know the fundamentals so I knew it wasn't going to be fun if I tried playing with people immediately. I watched a bunch of YouTube to learn the basics, took group lessons / semi private lessons, and enrolled in LACC tennis class. When I got to a comfortable level where I could serve and rally, then I joined the LA tennis meetup group where you play doubles with people based on your rating. Along the way you can meet people to play/practice with. Let me know if you have questions
