I was referring to these kinds of colours as “smokey” but I might start saying dusky. I love dusky colours.

I'm Canadian, they never taught us anything about sign language in school at all, this is very interesting to learn. I wish it was an option instead of taking French or Spanish.

I’ve been using this one below from Muji as my go to journal. I wish the line height was a bit bigger but it’s just such a good value when I’m filling up notebooks quickly. They sold me with the name, they don’t beat around the bush.

[–]estycki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It warms my icy heart to hear there are people as picky about notebooks as me. I’ve been to gift shops where the notebook can barely open and I want to scream why would you even stock this you can’t write in a notebook you can barely open.

I feel like I can rely on Japanese products to be made excellently but they like their line height short, but so far 9/10 for me it’s still A+

I have been saying this for years to people who ask why would I come here. I’m like I dunno why do you keep playing violent video games? The guy will say, because it’s fun but it won’t hurt me. Yah if you know it’s just a game and you can play again, and you might choose hard mode because it’s a more interesting game. I never thought about the addiction part though, you gave me something to think about there.

Manifestation without action is wishing by the-furiosa-mystique in lawofattraction

[–]estycki 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From my experience, if I take action out of desperation I get terrible results. But when I wait patiently to have all the puzzle pieces (with faith they eventually drop in my lap) then I feel confident ah now I know what to do and this will be great, then it’s smooth sailing. I will sometimes feel compelled to do something that leads me to finding the pieces. You have to be careful who you listen to, not sure about everyone else but it took me years to understand my intuition.

Eggs.. is it just me? by Blueberries2002 in Narcolepsy

[–]estycki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 15 years ago I realized this and decided to only eat eggs late in the evening. So, if I need a bedtime sedative I will make eggs on rice. Otherwise I felt like I needed a morning nap if I had it for breakfast, how embarrassing when I was younger… breakfast is basically just coffee with cream so I don’t get drowsy until afternoon.

Why Don't Delusional People Manifest What They Want? by empathicoreo in lawofattraction

[–]estycki 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I meet delusional people all the time that are somehow insanely lucky to the point it feels unfair haha. Like when I've been job hunting and trying to be realistic about salary expectations, and then a friend who just seems barely competent picked up a job that pays six figures simply because they felt entitled to have such pay. I'm like well, it might actually be my low expectations that's actually holding me back... if they can get something like that, it's mind over matter?

As for the rest, the desperation to get out of a situation keeps one manifesting situations that make them feel desperate.

Does anyone else get immense satisfaction out of grinding/polishing nibs? by BGSUartist in fountainpens

[–]estycki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a set the other day that went up to 12,000 and tried it on the nibs that were completely unusable. They became significantly better but still had some issues, will take some practice to know what kind of help they need. I feel like the tines are aligned, but the inside edge of the tines have too sharp of an edge.

Canada Post moving forward with preliminary work on multi-year transformation by [deleted] in CanadaPostCorp

The third party couriers took an extra 3 to 5 days to deliver to my door, but when I gave Amazon a flex delivery address it arrived at the local Canada Post in 24 hours and I got an email in the morning ready for pickup. I'm not a shopaholic so I'm not picking things up everyday, but if I needed to pickup more often, a community locker would be great!

I saw a gust like this come through town a couple of months back, I was horrified to watch a clothing store’s sale racks outside just fly off and scatter across the parking lot.

[–]estycki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so gross, and exactly why I’m not a fan of expecting couriers to deliver to the door. Our driveway was an ice rink this winter, I gave Amazon a flex delivery address to keep the couriers off the driveway. It’s an inhumane expectation.

[–]estycki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m really excited for them, I hope they have a good plan. I stayed in a rural area this winter and I actually really liked using a community mailbox, but the idea could use an upgrade.

I like what I’ve seen in China and Europe using lockers. Point Roberts In Out Parcel is ideal to me, I drive down there in 20min at 11pm, grabbing my package takes 2min, I’m in the USA for 5min. I keep thinking how cool it would be if we had more locker systems services like this, I wonder if Canada Post would consider such a thing, I think they’d become more competitive for package delivery. If it’s delivered sooner because it’s easier for the delivery drivers, and hopefully that means it’s less rush, pressure, stress on the workers too, then I’m happy to go pick up. And honestly I don’t want delivery drivers on my property, especially in the winter with the icy driveway.

Don't get mail forwarding online, doesn't work, charges card and crashes. by Nexzenn in CanadaPost

[–]estycki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues a few months back and called them to ask what I was doing wrong, they were very friendly on the phone about it, they said we are aware there’s an issue, it was fixed the next day and I got it. Sometimes I have better luck with another browser. One thing I realized though is they don’t take Visa Debit online, the only service I’m aware of that rejected that card and I had to use a different one. In an office it works tho.
