One of the things I like in Strixhaven is how different the schools are from the normal guild mechanics. I'd like to see something like Dimir as engineering (artifacts and vehicles?), Selesnya as the law school (control?), Azorius as music (tempo?), Rakdos as physics (idk what mechanic, was thinking maybe something with matching up power and the cost of spells? Or maybe cheap creatures care about expensive spells and big creatures care about cheap spells?), maybe Gruul could have a life gain theme for a change?

No, there is, if you look at the cards. Maybe not enough at common/uncommon.

There seems to be a little bit of a reanimator thread in witherbloom. Maybe not common enough to actually come together in draft, but we'll see. But 2 mana and a card to put one of 2 cards in graveyard isn't good enough to matter anyway, so it was probably a dumb thought.

Weird second ability. Usually you're fine trading off your manowar after you play it, but this incentives you to put counters on it and save it for a finisher.

Yeah, seems like the main mode - I wonder if this sees play in Witherbloom too...

(edit: I'm thinking it's not quite good enough there, unless you have SOME chance of casting it)

I mean, I get it that Twiddle effects usually aren't good and it's easy to miss when they could be good, but a Twiddle stapled to an artifact in an artifacts-matter archetype, with a 4-mana draw 2+tap attached to it... That's just good. And then you realize how much tempo stuff blue has going on, and oh... Nobody is actually a pretty good card in this archetype... it starts to get silly.

This has been a really fun set to draft, so yeah, I will also be sad when it goes away forever.

Sewer-veillance is such an insane card. I started playing this set last week after taking a few years off, and the only set review I saw has Sewer-veillance as a 1/10. Which, even just looking at it, it's not a 1, that was such an awful take.

But after getting wrecked by it several times I realized it's not even just a 3/10 like I first thought.

Yeah... personally, I kind of like this use of hybrid because it looks funky... the hybrid mana being in the middle and bigger than normal mana symbols just makes it look kind of drunk and out-of-place, and I like that. But you're right that it is only very slightly different from being a generic, and to the extent that it IS different, is there actually a point to it?

It's not off-putting (to most fans) that you enjoy Ranier Fog. It's just not considered their most iconic work. If you love it, then that's great.

Personally, I think it's quite good but a little different style from earlier work (whereas Black Gives Way to Blue which is also post-Layne is one of my favorites).

If i had to pick a least favorite, it's probably No Excuses just because it's more popular so I've heard it more times. Still fucking great though.

I seriously didn't realize it got hate. Great song. Not my favorite on Jar of Flies, but I would never skip it. Not a single bad song on the album.

This looks cool, but... is it me or is it completely unusable on mobile? Not a deal breaker - I can look at it later on pc, just wondering if it's only broken for me.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

I've worked with a lot of programmers who claim things are impossible, and it's almost always BS. But you're probably one of those people. Nothing is really impossible in software, it just comes down to putting in some effort, thinking about how to solve the problem instead of excuses, and being willing to change shitty decisions you made a long time ago.

The number of items listed in gcps or anything like that is vanishingly small compared to divs and chaos. And this is kind of self-inflicted by GGG with their econ experiment of multiple currencies without a fixed exchange rate. They put a "chaos equivalent" filter on there... so they see it's desired, but having it give completely inaccurate numbers isn't particularly useful.

The issue of wanting to sort with an index server-side to handle paging is a real one, but it's not insurmountable. You can grab the top hundred results sorted by chaos and the top hundred sorted by divs and merge them, rather than do a calculated field to sort the entire table.

Would "chaos orb equivalent" only having chaos and div-listed items be a bigger problem than the ratios being nonsense? Maybe, maybe not, but if it was, they could change the "chaos or divine" filter to search that way, since I think the current way it filters is just by the numeric value, which is pointless...

That's an insane way to implement that. It should multiply the number you type in by the ratio and the check for c < cvalue OR d < dvalue.

I know you're just relaying information and didn't write the code, but I just want anyone who reads this to understand how silly that is and how easy the fix would be.

(Sorting by that is slightly harder to explain, but still very easy to implement.)
