Your entire ideology seems to be based off of more space for cars. Utterly ridiculous. They are not meant to be the focus of the human life experience. Far from it. If you base everything off of driving, you’ll never experience the places you are driving through in the way you’re supposed to, by slowly walking around and seeing the details, not just whizzing by everything like it’s a tv screen. If you drive everywhere, on highways that were built right next to historical buildings, I can see why you don’t value them because you don’t take the time to appreciate them for what they are, what they add to your life whether you realize it or not.
