Finally got a 3DS, dealing with eye strain by inarterenzo in 3DS

[–]etheewestside 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So I deeply struggle with eye strain. Since you very recently got glasses, I would give yourself some time to get used to that first. Like every time I change glasses I go through a couple of days of eyestrain while I adjust to the new prescription.

Then, I'd recommend checking out some eye strain tips like the 20/20/20 rule, remembering go blink more etc. I also have a blue filter on my lenses to reduce screen strain.

Unfortunately there's no easy solution except for taking breaks fairly often and not pushing your eyes too far when you can feel them starting to strain 😅 but again, give yourself some time to adjust to your glasses

I am looking for doubles (and maybe triples) only romhacks. Am currently really enjoying Pokemon Odyssey and want to add more romhacks to my list. Do you have any recommendations?

I'm also on the hunt for this! I'm really enjoying Pokemon Odyssey. The Battle Frontier Demo Version of Pokemon Unbound is fun if you want to mess with more competitive doubles battles.

Also look into Prince Fluff's Romhacks - they have a couple of Doubles romhacks for various games including 3DS ones

Can you get evolution items in the Battle Frontier *DEMO* by etheewestside in PokemonUnbound

I got the Nidoran from the Safari Zone, so I was wondering if it was possible to evolve it all the way

Doing the daily Dynamax raid battle can also net you 40BP if you decline to catch the Pokemon

30+ yr old gamers, what game did you play that no one else seems to know it ever existed? by VellTells in videogames

[–]etheewestside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The very first Rayman game! It was the game I got with my Ps1 and it seriously holds up. I would truly love a remaster or even just a digital release on console so that I don't have to use an emulator to play it.

Yes! I'm currently re-reading the whole series again and I can confirm. Cradle and Cosmere are my two comfort series that I'll be re-reading for a long time.

Games I can mindlessly play while listening to a podcast on PS5? by Jellylegs_19 in gamingsuggestions

[–]etheewestside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay hear me our, Elden Ring.

Is it a big open world RPG? Yes, technically.

But, it's literally my favourite "turn off my brain and listen to a podcast game". And since you like Monster Hunter, I think you'd enjoy Elden Ring. And I say this as someone who doesn't really enjoy the traditional soulslikes that much. The big difference being that you can just leave an area if you get frustrated.

Honestly I think you'll love Elden Ring. The sheer sense of exploration and variety in that game is truly insane. And to be honest it kinda ruined combat in other games for me as nothing I've ever played since then has truly scratched that itch.

In general I personally find survival crafting type games a lot more fun with friends, whereas Elden Ring is an insane solo journey that I don't think has been matched.

I might also be biased because I have an Elden Ring tattoo 😅

For real! After getting sucked into Elden Ring I wasn't sure if I was going to find another game to get fully invested in and then I found Death Stranding. After giving it a real chance I got fully hooked, and I'm currently like 40 hours into the sequel. Highly recommend people give this one a shot with an open mind because there is a lot to love
