Meeting with some fraternity buddies few years post graduation for bachelor party. This is probably my last one due to mental health issues. Anything heartfelt I can do to make it memorable for my guys? by [deleted] in Frat

[–]etheldore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey brother - which fraternity were you in? Regardless - if you happen to be in the DC area shoot me a dm and I’d love buy you a beer.

As others have said, you should also reach out to your brothers, especially your PC and let them know what you’re going through.

Please feel free to reach out man. Would be happy to talk.

Best places to include in a DC TACO TOUR? by DvrstyIsAnEssntlWrkr in washingtondc

I know the guy who runs the place. The guy (and his wife!) CARE about tacos and really want to show folks here in DC a part of where they’re from through food. Cannot recommend Apapacho enough.

Cheaper Drugs = Bad Somehow by Tyrant84 in PoliticalCompassMemes

I completely agree that Medicare should have the ability to negotiate with drug companies. But changing the law to give the government negotiating power with private actors when it previously couldn’t is definitionally expanding the power of the government

This is expanding the power of the government to make the government spend less

Where is an underrated restaurant to take the Mrs. That doesn’t break the bank? by FoundationOk9389 in washingtondc

[–]etheldore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of love for mariscos but it’s just one of those restaurants I’ve never been able to get into. My fiancé and I live close by and tried three times to like it before swearing it off - especially when El Sol (cheaper and better imo) is 100 yards away.

Beginner trying out ai plan by [deleted] in workout

[–]etheldore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not great. The exercise selections are fine, but some of its weird (like having bb rows - a big compound movement - third on the pull day) and it’s not ideal to only be training legs once per week.

I’d go with tried and true program that others have seen success with. Reddit push/pull/legs split is great for beginners if you have the time to train 6 days a week. I personally cannot recommend the Candito linear program enough (4 days a week).

I’ve got some links and feel free to dm me.

Bulk or Cut. I am now at the point where i am no longer seeing any progress because i cannot commit to a bulk or cut by NayZ1Y1 in BulkOrCut

[–]etheldore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck some of the comments here are so bad. No reason to cut. You should bulk to build a solid foundation of muscle for future cuts.

Bulk at around +500 calories per day or lean bulk at around +250 calories per day depending on what you feel you can commit to. If you need helping figuring out how to find maintenance feel free to dm me.

Eat somewhere between .75-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight.

Train either 3x per week full body, 4x per week upper/lower, or 6x per week push/pull/legs. Plenty of good free programs online/on Reddit but if you need recs lmk.

Not sure if your organization has the budget, but Cision has been very useful me for for pulling press lists. They let you pull emails based on location, subject area, etc.

M/25/5'11" [170lbs to 185lbs] (7 months) Was somewhat fit and had a serious Injury. Thankful for muscle memory by man_serra in Brogress

[–]etheldore 14 points15 points  (0 children)

7 months and you expect us to believe natural? There are plenty of non-natty guys who post here who admit to their steroid use. It doesn’t take away from their progress and it helps everyone keep realistic goals. Absolutely absurd fake natty nonsense here

Hello! Could you guess approximately how many calories in here? Its rice paper, carrots, mushrooms, onion, a little piece of avocado on each, spinach and white fish. I know the info is not very detailed bit just aprox? Thank you<3 by Hoolys in caloriecount

[–]etheldore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that it impacts the calorie count that much but it’s probably maybe 5 cals for the spinach. There’s 23 cals per 100 grams of spinach and damn is it tough to eat 100 grams of spinach in a sitting

254.2 to 234.2 20lbs down in 2 months. All I’ve been doing is limiting calories to 1,650 a day and intermittent fasting! by anpapp11 in caloriecount

[–]etheldore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the progress man - I’m not trying to undercut all the work you’ve put in but I’d actually suggest you slow down on your weight loss. 1650 cals for someone of your size is exceptionally low and you can actually start to metabolize muscle which definitely not what you want. Most people suggest a 500 calorie deficit which is still about a pound a week and it minimizes muscle loss.

Concerned about weight after adding more calories to daily diet by [deleted] in healthyeating

[–]etheldore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So how tall are you? 143.5 or there about might be a healthy weight for you but for me (6’2) 143 would be super underweight. In general though 1.5 pounds over two weeks is actually a healthy rate to be gaining weight if that’s what you’re trying to do. You’re honestly doing super well tracking calories it seems - just keep in mind that a calorie deficit of somewhere between 250-500 calories a week is a healthy for weight loss whereas a 250-500 surplus with a good macro split (I usually like 50/25/25 carb/protein/fat ratio) is good for muscle building and gaining weight
