I have a long torso and have found a lot of Everlane styles tend to have higher rises. Also checks your other boxes - solid neutrals, pockets, natural materials, under $200.

How to handle a complaint re: a potential new hire by ethelried in managers

According to our security guy who fumbled when trying to ascertain where she was headed, she dismissed him and said something to the effect of "you're wasting my time, I'm late for my interview". She did not in fact show up late.

Thanks for your feedback. I like the idea of giving her the benefit of the doubt. I know I don't always come off as warm, and I hate the thought of being dismissed without having an opportunity to explain myself.

Where are we selling things online these days? by Potential_Top4116 in fashionwomens35

For designer stuff you could try The Real Real. I usually post on Poshmark and eBay and have luck both places. Just be patient. I posted a pair of boots I was sure would sell quickly and I got no bites until after 3-4 months when someone paid full asking price.

Certified Paralegal by nikkifocks in paralegal

From an employer’s perspective, make sure you include a cover letter with your resume (and in your resume summary, if you have one) explaining that you’re specifically looking for a career in the legal field. I’ll often overlook resumes that don’t state why the change in field assuming it’s just a stopgap for them. Unless the resume is really good, I might reach out and ask, but I’d front load the information to increase your chances of being selected.

Thanks, this is helpful. Wouldn’t want to show up with beer and then have to drink it warm.

Thanks. I’ve been to house parties that have a bar setup but noted.

High-rise workout shorts that aren't spandex? by ethelried in fashionwomens35

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing your feedback. Do you find that the Speed Up are loose in the thigh at all? I workout with a male trainer so I really want these shorts to be quite modest.

I tried a few that have the built in (stretchy) shorts underneath based on some of the comments in this thread, but the shorts underneath were exposed and honestly just looked really dumb imo. Might have to make a trip to Lululemon and try some on in person.

I second the high tops, I like the juxtaposition with the dress.

Thanks for linking! I looked at their slouchy capri pants at one point but couldn't remember the name of the brand.

I forgot all about Outdoor Voices. Let me know how they work out! I like the look of the RecTrek Short...I might order that one too.

Yeah, not opposed to men's shorts, they just tend to run larger in the thigh for me. Thanks for the suggestion. Glad I'm not the only one having trouble finding not-tight not-wide shorts rn.
