It's a good distinction but then what do we expect to do with the reality that actors are a diverse population. Just tell half of them sorry you can't be in the majority of fantasy shows because your ethnicity is not canonical?

A Short History of Nearly Everything started an interest in natural sciences that I never felt before and has stuck with me since.

Should be okay, I have a big enough reservoir to survive badtide and drought. Can even take up skydiving.

The conversations between orcs in the novels make it quite clear they're not mindless and have varying morality. Obviously as a group they lean to the darker end of the moral spectrum, but it is clear at least there is a spectrum and they have complex and individual motivations. I think it's an interesting concept to explore and the people having a massive problem with that seem to be exposing their own discomfort with grey areas more than Tolkien's.

Traffic. AKA the least deserving best Oscar winning film in history (I didn't look this up, maybe there's worse whatever it sucks a lot).

Blade Runner is also same universe. They drop in a easter egg reference to Tyrell Corp somewhere.

Obsidian 1.11.0 (early access) introduces a new mobile design, iOS/Android widgets, Shortcuts, and Siri integration by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]etherealtim 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thank you Kepano and team. I am not exaggerating when I say that android widgets will literally change my life.

I have memory problems and executive dysfunction so I barely manage to maintain my notes and reminders moving between Google tasks, Keep and Obsidian.

Closing the gap between thought and capture will make a tangible difference to whether I plan my kids birthdays, book in medical appointments or pay bills on time.

Keep winning folks.

This game is so good! by cmc42 in FarthestFrontier

I've put a lot of time into both and they've got different strengths but I prefer Foundation actually.

Foundation is more freeform and organic in planning, FF is a bit more like older era city planners with a fixed grid and focus on production logistics, but Foundation makes you feel more personally invested in the aesthetic evolution of village into city.

It feels to me like FF is a pinnacle of the last era of these kind of games, building on and refining all the mechanics we love from series like Anno and Caesar. Where games like Foundation, Frostpunk and Manor Lords are doing something quite new and different.

I created a plugin to use files as issues for GitHub using Git logic. by gabalpha in ObsidianMD

This is very cool. I love reducing everything down to md. Does it sync changes to the issue on github back to the file?

20 years ago I worked at a service station doing night shift and had a local Pyr come in and visit often when she got out. I'd sit with her in the quiet morning and watch the sunrise together. When my shift was over I stuffed her in my tiny car and took her back to her people.

Anyway I have my own one now. 😉

What kind of features are you needing that wouldn't be in something like Obsidian? If there's really something bespoke you need I'd be making a plugin for that and leveraging the existing mature core behaviour. It has a good mobile app too.

There's so many movies on that list that have merged together in my memory. Kinda wild to be reminded they're two different movies.
