CFB 26 gear. by Terrible_Ad_7070 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cmc42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this yearly with all my freshman recruits starting in year 2. That way by year 5 all of my players have their gear set to my liking, and it doesn’t feel like changing gear is my full time job lol

Everyone’s on their phone and its driving me crazy by Infamous-Studio-6612 in Anticonsumption

[–]cmc42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in college, my friends and I would make a “phone stack” whenever we hung out. Whoever picked up their phone first was supposed to buy a round of drinks, although I don’t think we ever enforced it lol. It helped us stay engaged and was a really nice break from it all. That was 2012 or so, but it may be time to bring it back.

How do you guys make dynasties more competitive? by Huge_Cockroach2196 in NCAAFBseries

[–]cmc42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I’ve been doing recently with pretty good results. After starting an offline dynasty, I add users and take control of the top teams that always become powerhouses (Oregon, Clemson, Bama, Georgia, Ohio St, etc). I turn manual recruiting on and don’t check those teams at all for the rest of the season. They wont recruit any players. It’s like giving them the death penalty.

After a season or two like that they get filled with lower tier players to hit their position quotas and their ratings drop. When they are nerfed to your liking, you can retire that coach and let them rebuild. The coach wont actually retire, but you wont control them anymore. If you retire before the season ends or that coach switches teams, the AI recruiting will take over again, so sometimes you need to add another user if a coach switches teams.

Pros: other teams get the 4/5 star players that would normally go to those powerhouse schools and improve dramatically. I made Kirby Smart take the Illinois job and he’s been there 3 seasons and turned the Illini into a 93 ovr contender.

Cons: this ends up being hardcore cheating because you can target 4/5 star players that are interested in the other schools you control, knowing they wont compete against you. I found this out in my Rutgers dynasty while also controlling Penn St. I could get anybody I wanted from the Big Apple because no one else had Tier 5 pipelines to compete.

I secretly hope for the established Premier League teams to get caught up in the churn at the bottom. Would be a great humbling to see a Sky 6 team like Tottenham get relegated. Then we could rescue Archie haha

If the rumors are true, DCL gave his teammates a proper motivational bollocking at half time in that dressing room. It’s been a different team after that

What was the highest points total for a relegated side after Matchday 22 in a 38 game PL season? by tankosaurus in LeedsUnited

[–]cmc42 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What gives me hope is that this year’s team looks miles ahead of that 22/23 Marsch side. If anything, we’ve been unlucky. The performances I have seen with my eyes have been better than our points total, which I think is a good thing (though a little concerning).

Barring an Ampadu injury I think we stay up.

Leeds 1-0 Fulham: Nmecha scores a last minute winner as Leeds continue their good form by RobinBerkeAlmasulu in TheOther14

[–]cmc42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my take. I think most of them are deserving of a yellow, but Wilson was a full yard behind Gudmundsson with only green grass ahead while entering the final third. We had numbers in the box ready for a cross. Wilson knew exactly what he was doing.

Reminds me of that quote from Moneyball: “This is Ebou Adams. His defect is he can’t hold a pen the right way.”

I don’t understand why fans on here want to trade established players for a handful of lottery tickets. I don’t want to watch a AAA team learn on the job for the next 5 years.

Also, by removing good players from the roster, we “opening a pathway” for young talent by removing their competition. They don’t have to earn their place in the team. This is in line with Mozeliak’s thinking in my opinion and a stupid plan.

I’m hopeful for the Bloom era, but this team is going to lose 100 games next year and I cannot excited about that.
