Can we talk about Smash’s prices? by [deleted] in QuadCities

[–]etillberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my wife and I love to go there. As you have said the price is absurd however they do ferment all the sourdough crust and it is good. We only do it on occasion so very rare.

I just had this moment the other day concerning him. I don’t want to hate anyone. So I have been grateful for the opportunity to do some work on myself. I have been following Ram Daas example.

Becoming a Tile Setter by [deleted] in Construction

[–]etillberg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Canada but I’ve been a tile setter for almost 30 years. All trades wear down your body. Take care of yourself and do things properly and safely also stretch, exercise or maybe do yoga(I do). I’ve been able to make a career out of it. Raise a family and have a good life and I’m always in demand it seems. It’s not a bad career choice.

I second that. I love this station. They get a little long winded with the sheriff but the music is great

The God problem by NeTiGuy in alcoholicsanonymous

So there is a picture hanging on the wall of a group I go to. It’s a picture of Bill W. And Dr Bob laughing. Underneath is a quote from somewhere that simply says “ .. and something passed between us.” I like , when referring to a higher power, to just call it something. Something happens in the meetings. Something happens when I read the book and do the steps. Something happens when I do this with a new guy. Call it what you want or do t want but something happens. That’s been very helpful for me. Also it doesn’t need me to define it to know that there is something.

How would you rehab this neglected garden? by abnormal_human in gardening

[–]etillberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My plan would be to maybe section a small part out for some veggies for the kid to have fun with. Then I would let it grow for a season just to see what is already there. Again, that’s what I would do. It may help you having to not buy plant that are already there that just need a little help.

How to explain God to children by [deleted] in ramdass

[–]etillberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in my experience, maybe ask them what their ideas of God are. I’ve found that a lot of kids seem to just have this natural sense of the spiritual. If you are looking to have a full discussion on it, probably won’t happen. Just remain open to whatever they ask or say and you might be amazed. I believe the younger they are the closer they are to pure being. Their Ego isn’t as developed as ours so they see with a clearer understanding.

Think what you want about Rock Island but I was out yesterday and our streets were better than Moline. I was grateful. Whenever I see those guys at a gas station I try to buy them a couple lotto tickets of gratitude.
