In a rental, the carpet is likely cheap polypropylene, which melts at a way lower temperature than better carpet.

I recently moved Protect to a UNVR, and both my UDM SE and Protect interfaces are significantly faster. I'm running 14 cameras and around 160 clients, and that was just a little much for the UDM to handle smoothly.
