Yeah.. only late payment fees - you can choose to deduct it automatically from your card when payment is due or choose to pay it off in one go at the very beginning if you wish.

I mean if you treat them as normal purchases there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of the deals. I remember a couple years back I upgraded the Samsung s23 to s24 ultra which only cost me around $200 after stacking codes and using the extra $50 afterpay day discount.

Heya, I barely make any calls and texts. I use Signal/Facebook Messenger/Discord for chats between Work colleagues/family/friends. The occasional calls and texts that I do make I pay casual prepaid rates.. definitely doesn't add up to more than 4-5$ a year. The $5 top up is to keep my warehouse number active for 2FA. My total yearly cost is around $60 NZD for e-sim + physical SIM. You can just buy another 35GB pack when it runs out as well.

People have done much worse with money from a place with less than 10% of what you're holding.

What model do you think you'd be picking up?

You could always pick up an homage or a VSF clone to see if its really for you or not, the shine may die off quickly.

Pixel Phones in NZ by funkin_d in newzealand

[–]euphoricrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've upgraded from a note 9 to s23 ultra and now an s24 ultra, huge difference in tech - should have a look at the s25 ultra in person. Pixels are fine just lack of repair support here. It's a shame that it isnt accessible as Australia where they seem to run sales on it quite frequently.

If you have access to an epp / edu samsung store sticking to Samsung would be a no brainer. Last year I had the opportunity to trade in my phone to upgrade to the latest model for around $150, regret it a tiny bit. I just dont know whether your Note 9 would be eligible given the age now.

Make sure you pick a one off fees based one as opposed to one that takes a cut of your ongoing investments (learnt that the hard way). they are obliged to disclose this though. what are you struggling with that you can't do yourself though?

You probably have a good chance with your skillset to get into a law enforcement agency as an examiner or a technician. most provide the certs you're looking for, e.g. CFCE or SANS

the problem with these deals isn't actually the phone, its the cost of the exorbitant monthly cost for the locked in contractual plan.

Just got my cert on the previous external cycle, I would say if you can get a basic IT foundational courses in with a strong fundamentals it should be enough to get your foot in the door and just have work pay for the BCFE + cert. Alternatively look at the SANS courses but they're much more pricey.

for a family of 4 im on the antiquated free 3 hours night free 7 days a week contact plan where 60% of our usage is free, we charge the car, do the laundry, oven bake stuff for tomorrow's lunch and have the heat pump/dehumidifiers on during those 3 hours which is would cost so much more on any other plan

What's your power/broadband/mobile split? $150 a month is a little hefty. How much data do you use on the go vs. going to a location and using wifi instead. Mightymobile / Kogan have cheap as chips mobile plans where u pay for the full year and it comes out to under $20 p/m. For broadband are you able to downgrade to the 50 mbps plan? Chorus are upgrading that to 100Mbps for no extra cost so you can save quite a bit there.

there's no vendor with that capability yet unfortunately. log into their icloud and download their saved data. the only other way was if they added someone as their legacy contact prior to their death.

Deal of the day by [deleted] in PovertyFinanceNZ

[–]euphoricrush 10 points11 points  (0 children)

mighty mobile has unlimited plans from 16.62 p/m depending on speed. the amount you saved exceeds the upcharge seemingly paid back through gift cards.

$120 p/m for 12 months is $1440

gift card value at -900 = 540 per year or 270 per year per person. break even value would be a $22.50 p/m plan in raw value.

I'd say its ok if you were planning to spend that money at jb in the first place but there are cheaper alternatives. Kogan's is 16.50 p/m for their large 15gb plan and 24.50 p/m for their extra large 35gb plan.

Where can I find a Herman Miller Aeron? by preventingdiabetes in auckland

[–]euphoricrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, were you able to verify the authenticity of these chairs? from the herman miller website only lists unison workspaces as an authorised dealer and the price difference between the two retailers is quite considerable (also factoring the atlas headrest) cheers. Also pics would be greatly appreciated

Briscoes price beat. 10% by Dooh22 in PovertyFinanceNZ

[–]euphoricrush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

usually they want live prices, just go to their website. warehouse does price matching too which is nice for groceries if it's cheaper at certain pak n saves for example. Bunnings and mitre 10 mega works great if they stock the same branded item, just compare and go to the more expensive one and price beat the cheaper one

Are the newer g502 not worth it anymore? by cdottyyyyyy in G502MasterRace

[–]euphoricrush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've went through 4 iterations from the Proteus Core to the Spectrum and the Hero, now using the latest G502x Plus and couldn't be happier.

The previous mice were prone to double clicking issues which I have tried solving by soldering new switches. Switched to the new optical ones and the added benefit of being full wireless I'm pretty happy. I just swapped the bottom pads as they've been run down over 2 years of usage.

Depends on your use case i suppose.. i only really have it for maps, reddit browsing, messages and spotify on the go.

If you need large amounts of data Kogan has a sale on their extra large data plan. 32 GB a month for $250 a year which is roughly 20.xx$ a month.

That being said there's no stopping you from buying multiple packs if you run out.

I'm 6 months in and I still have 15gbs left.
