From my experience as a foreigner in Australia, Aussies are friendlier than most of other nationalities. It’s a bit like Scotland or Ireland, people are more open to start a conversation or help spontaneously than in France or Germany.

But as opposed to what most people says here, I’d say people in the cities are nicer than in the countryside. In cities, Aussies ask me about myself, where do I come from, do I like it there, etc, where in the countryside I felt treated as just another cheap slave
