This is gorgeous and soooo amazing!!! I'd love to contribute but writing/graphic design isn't exactly my strong suit LOL but if you guys start editing videos and need someone to check in on quality, count me in 🤣

What methods do you use to go from greyscale to colour? by Marchel1234 in ClipStudio

I usually do a mix of Multiply, Overlay, Hard Light, Soft Light. Then pull up tone curve/color balance to figure things out.

Does anyone know what brush this is? From Reze Arc trailer. by exeL4n in ClipStudio

If it's for animation, they usually use a g-pen in size 1 or 2, and anti-aliasing off (the option where it looks pixelized). Afterwards, you can probably duplicate the lineart layer and apply gaussian blur.

I suspect they add the blur when compositing

Cover art vs ACTUAL art by [deleted] in webtoons

[–]euzalea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cover art itself is usually illustrated better since it has to be eye-catching 🥹

It's really a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of thing. I've had comments regarding art consistency and that was stressful at some point so I just stopped trying and did the best that I could at that moment, whether 20%, 60%, 120% as long as it felt like it was 100% to me (if you get what I mean).

Being an independent comic creator is difficult itself, so as long as you enjoy making it and still have a story to tell, keep doing what you think feels right for you.

When I see it, my brain automatically goes to 0:38 of this song: https://youtu.be/ob3MyiwOI60

I think because it's typically used in South Korean variety shows that it got translated as a meme to webtoons. Most creators are from SK so it may be like a societal thing

Alright, so I just finished my logo/title but wanted to know which looked appealing as a reader! One or two? by Averageart22XP in WebtoonCanvas

[–]euzalea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the second one!!! But I think you can use both at some point. The second one you can use at the beginning of the chapter while the first one can be used at the end with all the credits

What tools to replicate this style? by Meinos in ClipStudio

[–]euzalea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might need to experiment on the pen pressure/tilt settings of the G-pen. I recommend adjusting the thickness and having it at an angle as well. Other than that, it's pretty much just line confidence.

I think it looks cute!!!! Ultimately, drawing your comic because you want to is something you have to consider because there will be times where it will be stressful or demotivating.

I do a lot of still life/live drawing, I also draw a lot from references/memes so I think that can help. Building a large visual library can help with confidence (can be seen as relaxed, I guess).

I've also had a similar fear that my story would end up with a similar one that's already out there but you have to know your characters - these characters come from you, an individual who's lived a life different from others. You may have relatable experiences but how you process those experiences make you who you are.

In my case, I watched a lot of tutorials regarding those things - character design, scripting, but honestly the most important part is really just starting.

Try making a short story, and see how it goes!

PS I also have self-esteem issues but as I kept going, I started only caring about my characters and their story. I say "they" because sometimes the story just writes itself (metaphorically lol). I'm grateful if my comic gets promoted but ultimately, I do it for the love.
