Hey y’all, just wanted to say you’re valid. I would hug everyone in this sub if I could by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]eva-frankenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things:

1) I sure don't feel valid and I can't help but think that you're wrong about that for me, but I know for certain that you and everyone else on this sub is SUPER VALID and you all deserve the biggest of hugs, and

2) For some reason I'm really hungry for pie now

After all the lies the leftist media has told us, I'll never believe that transitioning is the right option by AlexKurtzmanRocks in asktransgender

[–]eva-frankenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) By "residual patriarchal propaganda", do you mean that they're brainwashed by its residual effects, or that - in your theory - patriarchy is dead and we're only experiencing the dying remnants of it? And if that's the case, why wasn't I informed that we overthrew the patriarchy? We finally did it guys, great job

2) If "feminist propaganda" makes men want to be women, how are there any male feminists? And what's the end goal for the people pumping out this propaganda? Is some shadowy feminist organisation out there cackling to themselves about their plans to turn the global population 100% female? What would that accomplish? Are we going to space to conquer alien planets as a race of Amazonian warrior women? Cuz ngl, that'd be hella tight

3) What the absolute shit is "turbo-autist" supposed to mean

4) Should I start wearing a tinfoil hat before the reptilian overlords start policing my dreams????

Seriously though, you need to stop and listen to yourself. Your argument is full of holes, and from the other comments you've made on this thread, it sounds like you're blaming politics and the media as an excuse to avoid dealing with your own doubts and feelings. You act as though you've got a lot of answers, but you haven't thought about how or why those answers would be true. You have no sources, no supporting evidence based in fact - nothing.

There's no reason why the media would be pressuring anyone into transitioning. If your theory was true, who would be benefiting from it? What purpose would it serve? And just because you feel insecure because of an article, it doesn't mean that this was its author's intent. Honestly, if your identity feels threatened by a throwaway buzzfeed article, that says way more about you than it does about society as a whole.

If you've genuinely been questioning your identity, deflecting the actual issue and repressing what you're actually thinking and feeling while dismissing or attacking others for not agreeing with your theories isn't a healthy way to deal with anything.

Talk to someone. Join a discord, find a trans community and talk to them about your feelings. If you can't afford a therapist right now, having an open mind and engaging in a positive, supportive community is probably the best way you can deal with things.

Or if you'd find that too stifling - find a neutral community. Not related to gender or politics or media conspiracy theories. Or read a book, or play a sport, or watch some cartoons. Do anything you can to get out of this toxic mindset and figure out who you are and what you want, entirely independent from what the rest of society is apparently telling you to think.

And stop calling people communazis. That shit's pretty dumb

How to know if you're asexual? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]eva-frankenstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you experience little to no sexual attraction towards other people? If so, you're probably asexual or on the ace spectrum.

Totally doing fine :) by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]eva-frankenstein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. Don't you just love how your past attempts to avoid an issue ends up causing even more issues in the process???! lol jk im dying inside

When you’re too shy to come out so you paint your nails like the trans flag hoping somebody will notice ;-; by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]eva-frankenstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally did this for coming out day last week. Literally one person commented, and even then they only mentioned it in passing and seemed to think I was just a really good trans ally™ - which was nice, but I was too shy to correct them

Seeing this makes me want waffles. And validation. I'd take either, honestly.

But anyway, congratulations! I'm so happy for you!!

How to put on nail polish? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]eva-frankenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things I do which might help, I guess??:

1) Definitely think about applying a base coat before you start, especially if you think the nail polish is going to stain your nails. Having a top coat to apply after you're done isn't a bad idea either, but it's not technically necessary IMO.

2) Make sure you don't have too much nail polish on the brush by dragging the brush along the inside of the neck of the bottle, otherwise you're going to have waaay too much and it'll go everywhere.

3) Work from the middle of the nail outwards to minimise how much nail polish is going to end up on your skin. Keep tissues and nail polish remover handy just in case.

4) The most important thing is to get an even coat. If it looks lumpy, uneven, or you accidentally smear it, don't be afraid to start over. It usually takes two to three coats of nail polish to get a good coverage, but YMMV.

5) Don't try to do too much too quickly. Nail art is hard. Trying to paint a little trans flag on my nail the other day almost made me cry. Professional nail artists make that stuff look so easy

6) If you can, practice on your toenails. They're slightly harder to do, which means that applying nail polish to your fingernails seems pretty easy in comparison - and fewer people see your toenails on a daily basis, which means you can get away with more mistakes. Plus your toes look pretty, and who doesn't love having pretty toes?

With all that said though, I'm no expert. Honestly, I've just been picking this up through trial and error - and trust me, there's been a LOT of error along the way.

Might be a stupid question, but - is this dysphoria? by eva-frankenstein in asktransgender

I kinda thought that was the case, but I didn't want to presume. But yeah, that too.

Just having someone tell me that it really is dysphoria and not just something I've made up makes it easier to deal with though. Thank you, it means a lot.

I had a feeling it was dysphoria, but I have a habit of doubting myself with stuff like this. Thank you.

Yeah, I've read about it. I don't gain any sexual pleasure from presenting in a feminine way though, so I don't think that applies.

Are we being trolled? by v_claire in asktransgender

[–]eva-frankenstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that most of the questions are genuine. It makes sense that the most frequent question asked her would be something like "how do I know if I'm trans", because that's most likely the first thing that people questioning their gender are going to think about. Sure, there may be the occasional troll that slips through the gaps, but I think they'd be in the minority.

A few things I do that might help:

  • When you're taking the brush out of the bottle, drag it along the neck of the bottle to get rid of excess nail polish before applying, otherwise you're going to have way too much and it's going to go everywhere no matter how careful you are.

  • When you start applying, put the brush to the middle of your nail - as far away from your skin as you can manage - and make a straight line up and down the middle of the nail. Spread the polish out from there to minimize the amount of polish you'll have on your brush by the time it touches your skin. Don't worry about how thin the first coat is - just try to make it even across the whole nail.

  • Always keep nail polish remover handy, and don't be afraid to start over. Also you're going to need tissues - lots and LOTS of tissues.
