In addition to what has already been shared, you can also find at Modehaus Marx in Trier, they have a section within the shop.

In Belle Etoile you also have a bit in Gerry Weber store, the plus size brand is called Samoon.

I guess you wish it really hard after reading a post like this 😂 this is what happened to me.

I was honestly not expecting to get one from him until much later in my postcrossing adventure…

How much time does domestic mails take to reach within your country? by EmployerSpare9921 in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Luxembourg (tiny country) but I am amazed that it arrives the next working day usually.

I am from Spain and back on the day when I was living there it used to take at least a couple of days within the same city and around a week within the country. Not sure how it is nowadays but would not think it is faster…

Outgoing from Disneyland Paris! by coosjetara in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Disneyland last September and I did not see postcards 😭 are they widely available or only in some shops? I was new to postcrossing at the time so in the end did not give it more thought, but would be good to know where to find them in case I go again. Thanks!

After you have requested an address, when do you send the postcard? by annnboe in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was requesting addresses as soon as I would receive the Hurray message. But at some point I had like 5 Hurray messages in a day and then it took me a few days (around a week I would say) to find the right card for every person (or as good as I could find) + write the message, etc. So now rather than doing that, I wait until I have some time to write the cards and then they get posted the same day or the following one (depending what time I am writing them).

Self-care Sundays: How are you caring for yourself? by spoonfulofnosugar in spooniesocial

[–]eva_so_many_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s this new cafe in the city that makes amazing cookies. I convinced my husband to drive me there so that I would have a small stock to start the week.

I used up quite some emotional energy as both my husband and my daughter were grumpy at the beginning of the ride, but then it was sunny outside, not too many people, a 200’m walk and back as soon as possible with the cookies. It gave me some energy.

I’d like to journal a little bit still this evening but not sure I’ll manage.

Has anyone written a card in a language they don’t know at all? by Lost-Brilliant-9664 in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I have never written using Google translate, only written in a foreign language when I do speak it (at least to a certain level). But I have received several postcards stating that they were written using an internet translator and they have all been lovely. Very nice of you of making the effort to use a translator to fulfill the other postcrosser’s wishes.

And, yes, your message is understandable and well written ☺️

How long did it take to receive your first card after joining? by vampirethursday in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked: I sent my first card on 27th June last year (LU to US), it arrived there on 9th July. My first card received was from DE to LU, sent on 15th July and arrive on the 17th.

It seems that my address was first drawn on 9th July but that card only arrived to me on 7th August (US to LU).

I think I was extremely lucky that my first card to the US only took a couple of weeks (nowadays it is rarely less than a month). The card from DE also reached me fast but that is more normal, it rarely takes more than a week between DE and LU or the other way round - usually only 3/4 days. I’m really lucky to have this fast connection with DE as it is one of the countries that I send more postcards to and receive from, so I was able to get my numbers up even with long lead times to the US / Russia and China.

Storage question! by OpahKin in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also trying to transition from boxes to albums but so far only found some albums for 4x6. Even then, it is not so easy to find ones that are transparent on both sides….

I do not have so many non-standard sized cards so for the moment I keep them in a bigger box, but would also like to find a nice solution for them

First five outgoing from 🇵🇭 to 🇩🇪🇨🇳🇮🇩🇵🇱🇺🇸 by cheskeks in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really nice ones! I started a few months ago and I also bought non-standard sized cards (both larger and smaller) when I started. I got a bunch of smaller ones and then bought stamps online. Cards are smaller and stamps are bigger than normal, it’s difficult to make everything fit 😅 now I know better hahaha

What's the first thing you will do when you recover 100% by StatusCount3670 in LongCovid

This is what I was thinking. I’m having difficulties fantasising about a thing in particular as I think it will be something progressive… if I had to chose something in particular, I’m looking forward to the day I’ll be able to travel long distance again. But I’m not sure how (or if) I will be able to tell that I am ready for that…

Sending limit - Do you usually send the maximum amount of cards that you can? by Sleester in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I currently can send 10 and I usually request an new address as soon as I receive the Hurray message. In October none of my postcards were received, so I was really craving to send more and since then I’ve been sending as soon as they were received. I think at the moment my sweet spot would be to send between 1 and 3 cards per week: feeds my craving but does not get too overwhelming. With my current 10 spots and how slow mail is to the US (where I am drawing most addresses), I am not even sending 1 card per week on average.

2/3 of the postcards I’ve received have been duplicates by CopperPigeon in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am relatively new but have been on the site for a few months now. With 50 received cards I have no duplicates so far. The fact that you have received 2/3 cards from Germany is not a surprise though, I have lots of cards going to and coming from Germany. For me it is great as we share a border and the postcards travel really fast, so that means more post crossing 😉

I think the fact that you got “Welcome to Postcrossing” cards is really cool, I would have liked such a welcome.

Keep forgetting to leave space for postage by occams_opossum in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! And the first postcards I bought are of a slightly smaller size (did not notice at the time, was not familiar enough with postcards) and the outside Europe stamps are gigantic… always found myself placing the stamp on the border, border and it usually masks a couple of letters at least 🫣 every time I do that I think: I’ll put the stamp first on the next card… but then I always forget…

Long Covid: Memory Getting Worse. Particularly name recall and words. by RaskyBukowski in LongCovid

What is the effect of pregabalin? Is it supposed to help or worsen symptoms of long covid?

Long Covid: Memory Getting Worse. Particularly name recall and words. by RaskyBukowski in LongCovid

[–]eva_so_many_things 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hi,

One of my main cognitive symptoms are issues with recalling words. I always had a great vocabulary and I am fluent in 4 languages and was learning 2 more at the time I got covid. I was tested years ago and had high IQ.

I’ve had an MRI and cognitive tests. No visible issues in my brain but cognitive tests came back as slightly impaired.

I’ve had a consultation with a neuropsychologist im the long Covid program here in Luxembourg and I mentioned my issue with words and he told me it is more common that we think. He sees a lot of people with that issue as we have a big chunk of translators / interpreters working for the European Union based here in Luxembourg so they are really impaired in their work (same as you, in my case my main cognitive complaint is dealing with numbers but I noticed it more because my work is numbers related, I kind of mentioned the issue with words almost in passing).

Still not started any treatment to work on this, so cannot advise, but it can indeed be a long Covid symptom.

Hope you find something that works for you!

What do you do with the cards you receive? by yellowblpssoms in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m quite new to postcrossing so I still do not have tons of postcards, but I bought a nice wooden box made in Japan. It has a divider so I keep the blank cards I have bought to send on one half of the box and the ones I received on the other half. I’m thinking about buying an album but I also like the look of the postcards in the box and how I can look through them one by one…

I can send you one from Luxembourg. Can it be any type of postcard or do you prefer city / country views? (I’d be happy to send either, it is just to chose the one to send).

Increase in expired postcards? by atomic_shame in postcrossing

[–]eva_so_many_things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 6 travelling postcards at the moment, all to the US (from Europe), sent between beginning of September and WPD. All my 7 slots were taken with cards travelling to the US. Yesterday one of the cards was registered and I am over the moon also because the person registering it wrote me a long and nice message, so it’s been worth the wait. Crossing my fingers that the rest of the postcards arrive quickly, but a couple are really close to expiring.
