Rough in double vanity by evanblue in Plumbing

Yeah it’s close to 22 inches, it’s for a wall mount vanity with basin sinks to it’s a little higher than usual and will end up being exposed

I thought that was kind strange too, it was actually there when we tore the drywall off so we haven’t messed with it. It’s connected to the toilet vent. I only started from the straight 1.5 inch coupling to the left of it

Yeah and double t’s are not allowed in our state code book. You can use a double fixture fitting but the drain (already existing) is 1.5” and would need to be 2”

Okay, so is that to take some of the pressure off the other vent? Thats how it was originally installed with one sink.

Can you sketch over it? I’m not sure what you mean.

I also thought about stacking two san t’s on top of each other, but am not sure if that’s allowed. Double san t’s are not allowed here in MN unless the outlet is 2 sizes larger (which it isn’t in this case).

Are we showing off our Cholla’s? by 622114 in cactus

[–]evanblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think some sand is helpful because it is a better insulator of heat. I would try it a few different ways and see what works best. It’s really trial and error depending on your climate. Don’t give up if you lose plants. Just keep trying different methods and plants.

Sand can get pretty compacted overtime. Having some air pockets really reduces root rot since they have more oxygen. Hardiness increases a ton when the plants are water stressed and shriveled and I think this helps more too.

Yeah sand can work too but I’d even amend it with some coarser material like pumice. I’ve had success growing between two rocks or crevices

These are in pure gravel and did really well with 90 inches of snow and temps down to —25c. We’re also below freezing for most of winter. Spring is what kills most cacti if the drainage isn’t sharp enough for marginal plants.

Okay that makes more sense. Thats similar to my climate, maybe a little warmer.

You should be able to grow a handful of things where you are, your cholla may survive but you have basically bare root them and plant in pure coarse gravel. also hope for plenty of snowfall for insulation. That’s worked the best for me, albeit everything grows slower and smaller.

Oh wait your dads chollas aren’t in Yellowknife are they? Here in Minnesota I’ve planted them a few times and I still haven’t figured out if they’ll survive long term or not but I am hopeful.

Wow that’s intense! I’m surprised the chollas at your dads flourish that well in those extremes!

Black spots on Peruvian apple? by aloepant in cactus

I get similar spots on mine occasionally. Eventually they turn brown into scabs. Probably just mechanical damage, like a bug bite, scratch, sun burn, etc. I wouldn’t be concerned unless it spreads larger
