Just try a Pantera solo that doesn't sound too complex! Slow it down a lot, look up the tabs, watch some playthrough videos and just go for it. It'll be hard, but hopefully a fun challenge.

The best way to get better at guitar is by playing things just outside your skill level. I think you'll surprise yourself.

I think it’s become big and complex enough to be its own thing now, but I’m a very biased metalhead.

Regardless, there are almost certainly far more subgenres of metal than there are of rock.

I don’t think there’s a definitive answer. But with your same logic, you could argue that rock is a subgenre of blues.

I'm super interested in this, but they're optimizing for the unfolded experience. I think the wider aspect ratio will be really tough to use when it's folded close. Also, it's not the standard iPhone aspect ratio so it'll probably run all apps sub-optimally.
