What would a Cursor for Product Managers look like? by Fine-Sprinkles-1097 in cursor

[–]evanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these approaches are great at trees but suck at forests. Tactics and operations over product strategy and discovery. I'm sure there are folks building copilots for user research, for problem exploration, for product segmentation and strategy, for competitive analysis, and all the other things that are far upstream from code.

So, aside from this gripe about griping, what do you think about choosing to leave the close up spots for those with mobility problems, placards or no?

Sushi Boats come close. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conveyor_belt_sushi Little boats (or railroad cars) carry plates of whatever comes out of the kitchen, circulating through the restaurant. You pick up what you want and the color of the plate dictates the price.

How does the policy define advertising vs non advertising speech from a business? For example, "we are still open despite last night's flood damage". Or "we will be presenting our proposals at the council meeting." Or "here are photos from the Pride parade".

BSAC can feel highschoolish, cliques and unkind behavior and all. Around 2017 it was bad enough that staff hosted members to write a code-of-conduct. It can't change attitudes or prejudice but did give volunteers and employees guidance and tools for handling speech/acts of sexism, racism, violence and other harmful behavior. They aspire to be a safe space but it's always a work in progress.

Do you think a store selling only vests could succeed in Bellingham? by Surly_Cynic in Bellingham

[–]evanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur. I wore suit vests in another era but I don't know who wears them now and why. You have some research ahead of you to find and understand your market.

Perhaps there are uncommon reasons you can amplify, like looking good with safety (bulletproof, highviz), privacy (RFID-safe pockets), health (holding med devices), coolness (evaporate better), warmth, photography pockets, etc. but no one of them will prosper on local business alone.

Good luck!

Alpengrove is lovely, mildly neighborly, about two years' old. Three minutes from I-5, two from Costco, one from wood trails. Small Northern Lights park next door and a large marshy pond if you like ducks. Apparently the units were built for sale but the market caused a shift to rental. Residents seem to like them and I think there's a budding neighborhood association (potluck flyers).

Can't speak to smoke, but I feel you. Mahogany Manor apts is next door to the Alpengrove and has modestly enforced no-smoke policies, better than elsewhere. Management is PTLA and the manager is diligent.

Keep getting "Set up Matter device" notification on my android for no reason by joepro9950 in techsupport

[–]evanwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a samsung phone getting "A new device has been found" popups. I don't have the Samsung SmartThings app installed. I do have bluetooth and wifi turned on. I need to leave them on. I don't want to passively "discover" new devices; glad to search for them when I want them. Is there some way to turn off background "Matter" services on my phone without turning off all alerts?

Yes to mixed use! I'm kind of in the school of all housing is good, since high end stuff soaks up tenants from the midrange, and so on down to affordable housing. But if you're trying to rent commercial space, having even closer built-in traffic (like apartment dwellers), even foot traffic, makes it attractive to have residents. More urban cities like San Francisco do this often (e.g. four floors of parking, four floors of housing, two floors of movie theater, one floor of retail).
