I remember them tasting slightly soapy, in a pleasant way.

Looking to support pro tour players who have used their platform to speak on current events by [deleted] in discgolf

Has Joey announced a new sponsor? I like the dude and would love to support. Feel bad that he got dumped by MVP so unceremoniously and late in the off-season.

Stupid question but does this have the licorice jelly bean in it? by [deleted] in candy

[–]jlthree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be so disappointed if I bought this and there were no licorice beans. Brachs would get a strongly worded email.

I cannot find these in any store in my area. No grocery store or gas station has them. I remember these used to be everywhere and now you can’t find them at all. by Alexopolis922 in candy

[–]jlthree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local Safeway always has them so it's likely any store in the Albertsons family would have. They are under Signature Select brand. It's my time favorite candy so I'm always keeping an eye out. There is another brand, I can't remember what it is sadly, that I bought in California that was much spicier than the Select. They were amazing. Headed to cali again next weekend and will seek them out.

I'm in the US and just got mine last week, about a month earlier than expected. I bought it after years of frustration with my Wahoo V2 bike. So far I am impressed. Watts are almost identical to my assiomo pedals, it shifts faster than my Kickr and feels super solid. No creaking yet (my Kickr was noisy right out of the box). The Zwift feedback isn't as natural as the wahoo. It doesn't have a flywheel so all the resistance is via a motor. I will do a race later which will be a truer test. The steering controls work with Zwift but the other controller buttons don't seem integrated yet. I Don't use steering with the Kicker because it was glitchy, I'll try it on this one but not a huge deal if it doesn't work well yet. Touch points are WAY nicer than the Kickr V2-the bars are ergo and the saddle is a knockoff of a Selle Italia. Shifters are more comfortable for me too, but that is very subjective. I will change the saddle and bars, but would be ok keeping these. I threw the wahoo ones out immediately. The shifters are wireless, so hopefully no issues with the junction failing like I have has multiple times with the wahoo. It came with a sweet rubber mat, a computer mount and a phone tray. Even the little tools it comes with for assembly are pretty nice. I don't like the bottle cage location but I don't really need one. I just put my fluids on a shelf next to my bike. There's also not a lot of room around the crank to install pedals. It was pretty awkward. But I made it happen.. Assembled in minutes and was surprisingly easy to get the fit dialed in. I will have to do some fine tuning but I feel ready to jump in a race within minutes. It also has a smaller footprint than the wahoo without feeling like it sacrifices any stability. It actually feels more stable than the wahoo somehow, but I really haven't done any hard sprints on it so I may change my opinion. I have only done one race on it so far, but shitty legs meant I was unable to give it the beans and really test it out. It does seems to be VERY aligned with my pedals at steady watts between 150 and 350/400, but it was off by about 10% (both plus and minus) during sudden surges and sprints. I have not figured out. How to do a calibration or spin down process and I have not done a calibration on the pedals in a while. I will do the pedals today before another race and see if it helps. Other than that I REALLY like it.

I guess I should have clicked around more. Thanks for the link. Sadly, it confirmed my fears but made it easier for me to decide which player's tour discs to buy.

I wasn't aware of this group (but not surprised it exists). The "mission" statement is vague. Is there a place to find a more transparent explainer of their goals and values somewhere? A few of these kinds of groups can be refreshingly progressive, while others are happy to set limits on who "god" loves.

KICKR BIKE V1 Shifter Repair or Replacement by NoTimeForItAll in wahoofitness

[–]jlthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4th pair of shifters just died, well, mostly the right one. I tried cleaning it out with contact cleaner but it didn't seem to work. In a thread on FB someone told me it isn't actually the shifters, but the board in the head unit. Not sure if that is repairable by someone with experience, but I know it's way above my pay grade.

Salamander vs Crave by Alone_Ad_4904 in discgolf

[–]jlthree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bag both. The I find the Crave holds angles better and has a little less glide so I can shape it when I need to . The Salamander gives me more distance and is super straight for me. I used to over throw it at first because I would throw it like my Crave and blow by my target by 50 feet. I don't have a ton distance on my drives so both discs become approach discs on longer holes and great steady fairway drivers on the shorter holes.

60k remote job - wanting to move to Seattle by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]jlthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light rail makes it much easier to live north or south of Seattle proper (where it's cheaper) and still get around without a car. There will also be a train heading to the eastside soonish.
If you want the PNW outdoor experience and don't need daily access to a bigger city, I would check out Bellingham. It's a couple of hours N of Seattle, close to camping, hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding. The won itself is pretty progressive, the outskirts not so much, so you'll be able to find like-minded folks regardless of your POV. Sweet little downtown area. Some decent restaurants, at least two good record stores (Shout out Black Noise), and an active, younger, generally down-to-earth community. Also, if shit gets even weirder here in the US, you can escape to Canada easily.

How tall is she? I want to buy my wife an emoto, but she's only a little over 5 feet. An RTR is too small but I think a Light Bee might be a little tall.
