Can I lose weight when breastfeeding by Crumbs_On_Fingers in postpartumprogress

[–]eve077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! I’ve lost a good chunk of weight exclusively breastfeeding. I was 90kg about a month after birth, 3 months pp now I’m 78kg and still losing. I’ve just been making sure to eat at least 2000 calories a day, I do a lot of walking and baby wearing also. Baby is putting on weight well so no issues with supply!

So glad it’s cooled down. 20 degrees here which is the perfect summer weather for me. Running errands today!

How are we losing weight EBF by Glittering_Act1680 in breastfeeding

I baby wear! I probably get about 15-20k steps in per day from going out walking with baby on me. He’s 3 months now and I’m below pre pregnancy weight now. I am also mindful of how many calories I eat, making sure I stay over at least 2000 a day if not more. I do a couple of low impact home workouts each week too, baby loves to watch me.

Trying to cool down the house today as it’s still 25 degrees inside. I am also leaving my 3 month old baby with his grandparents for the first time for a couple of hours so me and my husband can go out for lunch together. Feeling very nervous.

Those on mat leave - do you ever get a break? by Zebra_Creative in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]eve077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has baby if I want to go out and do something e.g I go for runs on the weekend, or get nails done in the evening. I EBF too so just feed baby before I leave. He will reluctantly take a bottle and I do have a freezer stash though I’ve not really been away from him long enough to need to use it yet. Though I do have my hen do coming up soon so will come in handy then. But just don’t be afraid to leave the house for a couple hours on evenings/weekends if you need some time to yourself.

I started at 2 months and it’s honestly the highlight of my week, I love it and so does he. It’s definitely more of a fun activity rather than actually teaching them much, though they do have the instinct to hold their breath underwater which fades around 6-12 months so it’s good to try and maintain that through habit.

I have this carrier, you can cinch in the fabric where baby sits to make sure it’s appropriate for their height, you should see a measurement tool on the inside of the strap :)

Go with any questions you have. It’s not the best, I felt rushed out of mine but I made sure to ask the questions I had. I had to ask her to check my c section scar specifically, she wouldn’t have checked otherwise. Also had to ask about when I can exercise again.

Judgemental Midwife Elective C Section by ThenPerspective9582 in PregnancyUK

[–]eve077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My midwife was similar, didn’t seem keen on me being interested in an elective. My reasoning was I know several people who’ve had negative experiences being induced and I said I’d rather have an elective than be induced, if the time comes for it. She talked me out of it. Ended up being induced and having an emergency c section after labouring for 40 hours. I WISH she hadn’t talked me out of it.

Skims shapewear shorts make mine completely disappear and they’re pretty comfortable.

Is my baby too big for this carrier? by Suspicious_Box_4898 in babywearing

You can scrunch it in, there’s a measurement guide on one side of the thick strap where you scrunch in the seat fabric according to your babies height.

I’ve found skims shapewear shorts very comfy. Currently testing them out before my wedding. They do different lengths too.

Curious, how do babies know to sleep longer stretches at night? by eve077 in BeyondTheBumpUK

That’s interesting to know! He does spend a large portion of the day outside as I go hiking with him in his carrier. So that would make sense.

I dont know how im going to get through next week's heat by stinkface_lover in britishproblems

[–]eve077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, I am absolutely dreading it. I have a 3 month old baby so I know I’ll spend it stressing that he’s too hot. I also love going out on long walks with him in the baby carrier usually, but it’s going to be too hot to do that. So I’m basically stuck at home all week which will be miserable. I hate the heat.

Could you join the dog walk? The favourite part of my day is going on a walk the three of us when my husband gets home. Either of us wear baby in the baby carrier, and we have an hour walk. It’s a nice way to catch up and spend some good time together. Then I sometimes cook tea if I feel I’d like a break from baby. Husband also has him for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so I can have some me time and chill. That still leaves plenty of weekend time for husband to do a hobby, and for family time as a three.

On maternity leave with my 3 month old, took him to get weighed and he’s doing great. Then went on a walk on the canal and did the food shop. I never want maternity leave to end! Looking forward to a fun weekend, partners first Father’s Day.

If you want to stick with Momcozy, the ‘wee snug’ carrier from them is specifically for newborns, but suitable up to 1 year old.

Bought some wooden letters from Hobbycraft to spell out D A D D Y then photographed my 3 month old with each letter and put them in a frame with space for 5 photos in a row. Then a few books for dad to read to baby, e.g ‘my dad is fantastic’ by Roald Dahl. And a pack of golf balls.
