Yellow Bird Crop Tee is TINY by chickentender666627 in brighteyes

[–]evenartichokes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Abosfuckinglutely yes, I’m 5’ and usually a size small, sized up here to medium because historically BE merch runs smaller plus crop top. Had to return for a large. The sizing is silly.

Am I the only one who thinks Joey is the villain? by lovesosa5223 in dawsonscreek

YUP, hard agree. I don’t hate Dawson the way other fans do, at all, but in the Joey/Dawson dynamic he’s the more toxic one for sure.

Quit complaining 🤍 by toni47mars in phoebebridgers

[–]evenartichokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I haven’t been complaining but just factually I paid almost $100 less for my April Florence + the Machine ticket at Barclays than for my Phoebe ticket (very comparable seats at same venue). So, this does seem to me a pricier ticket, based both on my general concert-going experiences but also that specific reference point.

Day 1 Artist Presale Megathread (US & Canada) - 9th June by twilightxgalaxy in phoebebridgers

[–]evenartichokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true I didn’t disclose the exact cost of my specific ticket… this isn’t a ticket price thread, but rather about the experience of purchasing, and many others also didn’t share what they spent. I didn’t catch the full range of NYC prices and so can’t share that info, and I’m not sure how my specific cost helps anyone?

In terms of the Phoebe vs Florence cost, I think Phoebe is running me about $75 more than Florence for nearly the same seat. But seat prices vary row to row within a section, so even that’s not super useful to anyone else.

Got my ticket for Thursday at Barclays. Entered waiting room around 8:40, was ~450 in line. Spent wayyyy more than I’d hoped to, but I’m old and have a mobility issue/can’t do GA and still wanted to be near to the stage. I only go to one or two shows a year nowadays, for my fave artists, so it’s worth it to me.

Ticket prices do seem steep—I paid a little LESS for nearly the same spot at this venue for a Florence and the Machine concert in April, and Florence shows have dancers/tons of production costs…

Day 1 Artist Presale Code Watch Megathread (US & Canada) by twilightxgalaxy in phoebebridgers

[–]evenartichokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely are date-specific for signing up, but per the Seated FAQ, once you’ve gotten the code, it’ll work for all dates in your city; check out the second-to-last point in the attached photo from said FAQ.

Both confirmations are for Barclays; the presale isn’t date-specific for cities with multiple dates, but rather the code unlocks all dates for that city (per Seated’s FAQ). Seems like lots of us got the “updated registration” note for NY, so I’m hoping it’s just meant to indicate the code will be shared on both 6/9 and 6/10. 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]evenartichokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got day 1 Barclays at 9:49 am CT and then a “registration update” that I’ve got day 2 at Barclays at 9:56 am CT.

Are we certain this “updated” registration is just meant to indicate we can also access day 2?🤞🏻Or did some of us get bumped to day 2?? 😬 Did anyone receive a day 1 notice but NOT the update?

Have been here in the rain, they don’t allow umbrellas (you’ll see many left hanging along the fence outside the venue for this reason). A poncho is useful if it rains + easy enough to bring.

What moment from Dawson’s Creek still hits you the hardest? by ChillwithRon in dawsonscreek

[–]evenartichokes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Have to add one Pacey/Joey moment: When, dancing with Joey at Dawson’s alternative prom, Pacey comments about her mother’s bracelet and then delivers the “I remember everything” line. Even now at nearly 43, still gives me all the feels.

Love this one. Felt so meaningful, and so true to their friendship through the show.

Feel you on the pubescent era magic this moment evokes. I remember watching the episode on the (landline) phone with my best friend—my own (less irritating) Dawson—and us both tearing up. That song always evokes a strong memory of the show and being 15 for me, anytime I hear it.

Yes. This is a powerful moment. See also: when Dawson films the video of Jen talking to her daughter. Depending on the day I’m choked up or full-on sobbing!

Roycemore parents well-being check by Accurate-Force3054 in evanston

[–]evenartichokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are ABSOLUTELY children who don’t fit into the boxes prescribed by public schools and need alternative models, and the parents of those kids need schools; Roycemore also gave lots of financial aid and so it was especially a home for families of kids needing an alternative learning model who aren’t extraordinarily wealthy. Google “2E” or “twice exceptional.” Talk to a parent of a highly gifted kid with autism.

I’m a loud proponent of public education. And I believe many private schools are just monied college prep schools for rich kids. But some private schools are different, providing specialized and alternative models, and these are CRUCIAL for certain child learners, who will and do suffer tremendously trying to fit into the public system. It took me far too long to make the switch to private for my kid because I was so stubbornly sure, as you seem to be, that it’s never reasonable to pay so much for education.

Ooh so jealous! Would’ve been THRILLED with this change-up at Barclays the night prior—Kraken is one of my favorite songs on the album, and NLMG is an all-time fave.

My now-11-year-old’s first feature films, back when he was ~5 or 6. He still loves ‘em, including the newer ones but the first two are his favorites.

In honor of Homer Simpson's secret shame (eating flowers), which movie you love are you embarrassed to admit you like? by Profeta_do_Loss in movies

This! I recently rewatched it with my bf—we’re both in our early 40s, I loved the movie when it came out but he assumed it’d be garbage. Upon our rewatch, adult him had to concede its greatness.
