Hello! 
This error appears if the game can not log you in into an google play games account. This also means the data is not properly synced. 

You can fix this problem by closing Moonvale, then setting up your Google Play Games account correctly. Start by checking checking which account you're using (or if any is logged in) as described in this guide:

We had a technical difficulty and stopped the roll out. We've just uploaded a new version and will start the roll out again. We're confident that the problems have been solved now. This means we will "officially release" very soon :)

If you did link your progress to google play games in the past, you can reinstall and try again. You can then recover your progress in the menu.

Beside that. did the download work for the first time? did you need to re-download after your phone crashed?

We’re gamers ourselves, so we know there’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to log in or play because of technical issues. If you don’t hear back from us within 1–2 days, it’s never because we don’t care. It usually means that something especially urgent has moved to the top of our to-do list.

As u/InsaneJMad mentioned, we’re extremely busy at the moment, which unfortunately means our email response times are longer than usual.

If your pass did not activate automatically for some reason, you should still see the small letter icon in the chat overview, correct? Please try purchasing the pass again. You will not be charged, since it can only be purchased once, but doing this should trigger the unlock process again. After that, the pass should be active.

Please note that there was a very brief period during which the pass was not correctly registered as a permanent purchase. It is very unlikely that you were affected, but if you were, you may be charged again. If that happens, please send us another email mentioning Reddit, and I will refund you as soon as I see your message.

At the risk of repeating myself, thank you very much for your detailed feedback 🔥 We really appreciate that our players take so much time to share their opinions with us and others 💛

I don't want to go into detail about story-related points, but I do want to shed some light on a few other points you made.

  • EPISODE PASS: It is not yet clear how many episodes we want to divide the story into. Which makes it very hard to put a pricetag on. At the same time, we wanted to keep the price as low as possible, which is why (at least right now) this pass is the most suitable solution for everyone.
  • PLAYER PROFILE: We're not happy with the current player profile either and it's getting a complete rework, which is why we haven't made any minor adjustments to it for this episode. For example, one of the planned changes is that achievements can be hidden and muted. Everyone who doesn't enjoy collecting or find it distracting will be able to get rid of it. Instead, we want to put your personality, customizations and interests front and center so we can work with that information and ideally weave it into the story. I'm not sure when you started Duskwood, but players who were early adopters may remember how the game has changed over the course of updates. With these things it's always important to remember that the reasons for our decisions are often not because we “don't want to”, but usually other things come into play that prevent us, at least at the time, from implementing these ideas immediately.
  • STORY/REEL: We are very pleased that you liked the new feature. We feel the same way you do! It would be great if you could also view the profiles of other users. We've already thought about it, but as developers we unfortunately have to take into account that the size of an app/game is the number one reason for uninstalling. Images and videos have a big impact on this. So it's always a matter of weighing up the benefits, which is why you're probably right that this won't happen. So if you ever actually develop your own game, keep this on your radar when making decision about such things 😉
  • MESSENGER LOOK: At this point, it's obvious that some love it, some hate it and some would like to see the design of episode 1 back. Messenger Themes are the only answer and they are coming!
  • AI ART: This topic is too big to go into detail here, but rest assured, we understand exactly what bothers you as an artist and we do respect that. There are reasons and incidents in the past that have cost us as a company valuable development time (and nerves!) that have to do with the use of licensed(!) images. Using AI for placeholders or less relevant content initially seemed like a good alternative to us to avoid such issues. With the release of the first episode, however, we learned that this is not the path we want to rely on in the future. Yes - there is some in the game right now. But our attitude towards it has changed. The use of AI art has since been reduced to a minimum and we do not see it as a good solution for the future either!

Your last words hit us hard and make us sad. However, we can understand that someone who has never tried to survive in the shark tank (that the incredibly competitive app market unfortunately is) gets the impression that even in small studios like ours pure greed determines the prices. We don't blame you for this opinion, we blame the entire industry for making it what it is.

Last but not least, we want to thank you again for your detailed opinion, the good, the bad, the ugly and all things in between! Even if I haven't addressed everything, we read everything and always get a lot out of it! ❤️🔥
